well, the Organizers and the Mods ..decided to have a war......we selected this thread/...over the Hooker one

Someone posted here the other day about their kid being called a name in school. The OP also was asking for advice on how to explain to the kid on how to deal with such matters. We have " ALL" dealt with this sort of thing in our lives and hopefully know how to deal with it.

Were all adults here and if you let a name bother you, its on you, not the poster. Ive seen ppl here calling elected officials,celebrities, just to name a few, all kinds of foul names and I mean FOUL. Thats okay though their not here so that makes it fine, right?

There are little cliques of ppl here that get support from one another to do exactly what they themselves complain about. Of course there are the ones here also that will run a taddle on every little thing said to them just because they have this notion of dislike for the one posting.

Knowing someone on a forum is not the same as knowing them in real life. You only know the person based on what their opinion is or what they write. Judging them on "your percieved interpretation" of the latter is quite foolish and weak at best.

I can only imagine what kind of name calling goes on in the PM's being passed back and forth here. A name being called between two ppl is no different than one being shouted in public. Being a secret name caller is okay? :rofl:

Mags, not to be offensive, but I constantly do so, and the same keeps happening with no consequences to the usual bullies. Perhaps some members have more pull with the moderating team than us simple mortals. Whatever.

Lenina, not to be offensive back, but HOW do you know that we do nothing? Action taken against an individual is conducted privately, so NO ONE (apart from the individual concerned) would know any details. Additionally, what one person may feel is offensive is not offensive to another. It's a difficult job to gauge the middle ground sometimes. Some people report things to us that they feel is a TOS violation but upon analysis it isn't.

People DO get suspended here on VJ - our list is VERY long - but at the end of the day not everyone is going to agree with our actions and that's okay. I really don't mind and I'm used to it. ;)

I'd also like to add that I haven't received a PM from you for a VERY long time, and I wish to point out ONCE more that the Report Button ONLY sends reports to Captain Ewok - not the mods. :)

No need for sarcasm and the "ONCE MORE" discourse mags, save it. The reason I don't PM you anymore is because I decided to PM Ewok directly; and will continue to do so.

And "once more", some VJ members who continuously harass, bully and offend people roam around like nothing happens, so yes, there is favoritism that is out there for all of us to see.

Yea, as i remember it, carolsmarc is and was always one of the most frequent name caller/personal attacker in OT :whistle:
