So is Alla!

Nadya just had to take a mandatory 3-week unpaid furlough from her job because the hospital is out of money. She's kinda debating now about whether she should even bother going back to work or just hang out at her parent's place until it's time to go. It's a tough call because I obviously don't want her to burn any bridges in case for some reason the visa is either delayed or...that which we will not speak of happens. But for some reason last week she seemed to kind of change mental gears, and went from "we will talk about when I go, after Embassy gives visa," to "Maybe day after interview I go to the California!"

I'm almost thinking Nadya should give herself a rest too! It is a toughie!

Alla still refuses to discuss anything past the interview. She hints around, but still is just too superstitious. That visa has to be in her hand or it ain't real!

I think it is a common problem Mox  Elena asked me today when I thought I would come, and I told her I would come for Russian easter if she wanted. She said that would be perfect and she asked me what dates I thought. I told her I would probably arrive on the 25th and we would leave to come back to the US on the 28th or 29th. I asked her which is better, the 28th or 29th? and she said "I will think about it and we will talk about it later" and I said "well, you should think quickly because you want me to buy the tickets as soon as we know if you are approved or not after the interview, and your interview is 1 week from today and you leave for Moscow on Friday and we will not talk very much when you are there because you will be busy." She said "I not think about that, I very nervous now"

They really do seem to have an aversion about thinking too far into the future, for sure. When I was visiting Nadya, we never made any plans more than a day in advance, and usually it was in the afternoon that we made them, if at all.

In any case, I do like that she's starting to get a little more excited about going to "the California." :) She's getting her police cert from her home village on Friday, or so she thinks. She seems to think they'll just give it to her, I'm thinking she's going to have a wait. We'll see. Of course, it'll be my fault if she has to wait because I've been saying that it's going to take a long time. Damn me! :D

At least California has a little Russian undertone. I like Alla's, When "I come to Ohguyah."

You guys will have to drive through Tsintsinnati some time.

Congrats to all you new "appointees"! Its been a long road...

I just visited with Tanya for the last time on Yahoo. The next time I see her smiling face I intend to kiss it in Atlanta! She leaves for Moscow in the morning with son and cat. Appointment is on the 3rd, tickets for the 8th but can change if need arises. Really wish I could be there with her but it is not possible at this time. She is more confident than I am about the interview but she has a big phobia about the medical.

Will you guys have the opportunity to meet each other in Moscow? Are your interviews scheduled close to each other? That could be a lot of fun.

Calling an illegal alien an "undocumented immigrant" is like calling a drug dealer an "unlicensedregistered pharmacist". (because somebody gives a damn)

No, I won't be making the trip to Moscow. I really wanted to, but work has been slow, and financially, it just ain't possible.

Alla is afraid of both parts. She had a health problem several years ago and afraid they could give her a hard time about it when reviewing hsitory. She's also nervous about the interview fearing they will grill her because we had to re-file from 2004. I told her tell the whole story and you should be fine.

It would be cool if all of us having the interviews close could have a big get together over there. :D

That *would* be pretty cool. One of the other forum members' wives called Nadya a few weeks ago and told her all about the interview process, the medical, and life in "the California." It was a really big confidence builder for her I think. Getting a bunch of couples together in Moscow to talk it all over and dispel some fears and rumors would be really cool. So you membership that are independently wealthy...come on, step up and fly all us May interviewers over to Moscow! :D

I wouldn't even worry about having money for the wedding, I would worry about having money for every day life. (Jeez I wish I had the bank some of you people generate!)

You're going to have to set up shop for two people and she's going to have some serious $$$$ needs after arrival. Not only that, she's not going to be able to work either. So, you're going to have extra $$$$ going out, but no extra coming in.

Whatever money you have now, save it for the rainy day, because it's coming.

That is, unless you just have a lot of money and aren't really worried about it. In that case, more power to you. Have fun!
