Heh...I just pm'd someone else with this exact information, so excuse the copy/paste:

Once I saw my packet arrive in Moscow, I waited about 3 days and then called the Department of State every morning. Their number is 202-663-1225. They'll ask for your case number, just give them the MOS number you received from
NVC
. Note that even though your packet has arrived in Moscow, it'll take them about a week or so to actually "receive" it into their system. The DoS person will say that an electronic copy of your packet has arrived but your hard copy has not. Just call every morning or so. Eventually they will tell you that the hard copy has been received, and when your interview date is.

I don't know why Moscow is slow on updating their appointment schedule. They say they update it on Mondays, but they seem to be pretty loose about it these days.

Mine sat in the mail room for a little over 2 weeks before it showed on the system. It is painful, but keep waiting.

Your paralegal is wrong. It's more like 90 days, slightly less. According to your timeline you should expect a late May or early June interview. Take a look at my timeline for a better idea. (Feel free to Paypal me a share of that $2k. :))

I have been looking at timelines and I just got my interview scheduled for early may last week! Its taking usually a little under 2 and a half months from when the embassy recieves the electronic copy of your case!

Yep, VJ saves the day, yet again. (PM me for my PayPal info as well.)

The embassy website updates don't happen that frequently. It's more of a resource to check back on, not to "discover" when your interview is. Your fiancee might get the packet before the date is on the website.

Just keep checking back, but not every day. I recommend checking once a week. That's all. If you're expecting or hoping for daily updates in your case, you're going to drive yourself crazy. Relax. It's there, it's going to happen. SOON!

Good luck in the rest of your VJ process, and when that paralegal recommends that you use their $1500 services to apply for AOS, tell him to shove it where the sun don't shine and then log back on to VJ.

I emailed them once a week. Although it takes 2-3 days to get a response, they do always let you know. (ConsulMo@state.gov).

I would try to get some cash back from that paralegal! In my case, the interview was scheduled just under 60 days from their acknowledgment of petition receipt.

yes, slim ill do just that.:) after a few kind irish limericks:) i called on friday at 1am est,(moscow is 7 hours ahead of us now due to time change) bit the bullet and used the credit card with the info service listed on the moscow embassy's website. the nice russian lady, very polite, took my info, and said,"call back today after 5pm moscow time,i will put inquiry, and you will know." next morning, fiancee sent me sms message stating she had called public number to embassy in moscow, they told her to" call back monday!", and she said to me"dear, dont call to them, maybe we will know monday...."

i said ok, but it just reminded me to call back info line:) so out came the old credit card and i called info line again. same lady, she said to me,"your fiancee's interview is scheduled for 20 may,8am."" spasibo balshoye! "i said. called my girl and told her. she asked me how i found out, i said"i know people, who know people":) thanks alot! now i have to update my timeline.

Yep, no need to be there for the interview, they won't hold it against you. You can't go in with her anyway. Congrats on the interview btw, it's a relief when it happens, isn't it? :)
