Ok - I figured as this is the word on everyone's lips at the moment that we needed somewhere to keep all the info in one place.

~~~
First off:
http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/ty...types_2994.html
Vaccination Requirements
United States immigration law requires immigrant visa applicants to obtain certain vaccinations prior to the issuance of an immigrant visa. Panel physicians who conduct medical examinations of immigrant visa applicants are required to verify that immigrant visa applicants have met the vaccination requirements. See IV Vaccination Requirements for the list of required vaccinations and additional information.
As a fiancé(e), you are not required to fulfill this requirement at the time of your medical examination for a fiancé(e) visa. However, you may want to do so. These vaccinations are required when you adjust status following your marriage.
By this we can assume that we don't need to get the HPV vaccine until we are in the US (by "we" I mean females under the age of 27:
http://london.usembassy.gov/cons_new/visa/...ccinechart.html
I would still like to know what happens if our last injection (as it seems to be a six month course of three injections) falls after our 27th birthday. Any info on this would be welcome.
~~~

Next:

http://london.usembassy.gov/cons_new/visa/niv/add_crime.html

Applicants who have, or have applied for, a Subject Access Statement

If you have applied for, or are in possession of a Subject Access Statement, and you will appear for a visa interview before August 15, 2008, the Nonimmigrant Visa Section will accept this Statement, provided it was issued within 6 months of the date of the visa interview. Applicants appearing for interviews on or after August 15 will be required to furnish the new style police certificate from the ACPO.

As the K-1 is a NON-IMMIGRANT VISA we can also assume that the above is true for us. I have read that there is dispute about consulates stating that K-1 is IMMIGRANT. I am going to print the information that clearly states it isn't and wave it in the face of any officials who contest otherwise :lol:

There is also a thread regarding the Police Certificate here

~~~
Hope this helps some people and I hope we can get more info here as well :)
im sorry to say your are totally wrong about the the police certificates if u have them they are NOT valid untill the 15 august u will need the new style ones that must have a photo of u printed on them as well it confusing i know but DO NOT TRUST WHAT IT SAYS ON THE USCIS website on this subject
At the time of the post you quoted, which was two months ago, this was the case.
Since then, it seems that the authorities don't want to abide by what it says on the website. As things were so up in the air a couple of months ago, I stated that I was going to take all the info that said it was valid until this date (which I did and highlighted the relevant parts).
As it was, they accepted the old certificate without asking for any clarification - this was on April 9 2008.
Without evidence to the contrary (which we have now had) I would still challenge the IO if they disputed it, providing the website still said August 15. However, as people have reported needing the new certificate recently, I would recommend that as being the ideal course of action.
Just to add to what others have said, my nurse, too, quoted £80 per injection for the HPV vaccine.
However she was able to give me the MMR no problems; didn't have to consult a doctor or anything. So that's one down!
RE the police report--my finance had the old type so he sent for the new one in early March. It's now early JUNE and he still has not received it. His police station checked on their computer and they say the check was cashed in London but that they never received the report.
This is the only thing that's holding us up but nobody seems to be able to do anything about it. He's going back to the police station on Monday to check AGAIN with them and he has sent in a letter about it (to New Scotland Yard?) but what if he still hears nothing?
What can he do? We are FED UP with the waiting.
Arrrrrggghhhhh I just went for an appointment with my nurse Re HPV and after telling her what a stupid idea it was that I had to have it in the first place she proceeded to tell me she didn't know what it was!! Once I had explained the ins and outs of it all over again she went to get some info from the other nurse who it turns out does know what it is but told me I can't get it through my GP at all. Apparently I have to go to a local private clinic and they just quoted me £160 for the first injection and £120 for the second two. Ahem I never thought I would be saying this but I would rather have it at the Knightsbridge Clinic. :ranting:
I am sorry to hear that, Bex! And yes, I'd have it done at the Knightsbridge clinic in that case, too.
Fortunately my doctor's surgery seems very clued-in. I've been really impressed with everyone I've spoken to there so far - I've had bad experiences with doctors before but this clinic seems very professional. The nurse has been exceedingly helpful.
The prices she quoted me for the HPV are exactly as follows:
Ceravix £189.16 (for two doses)
Gardasil £174.98 (for two doses)
She did some research for me and apparently the Ceravix protects against two strains of HPV and the Gardasil protects against four, so she was very surprised that the Gardasil was cheaper! That's what I've ordered and I'll have that next week.
She also said that she'd have no problem obtaining the Tetanus, Diptheria and Pertussis, (TDaP) and that it would come with Polio also. However as an adult I have to have a lower dose of the Diptheria so that needs to be special ordered too. (The dose they give children is apparently too high for adolescents/adults to cope with).
She even said that the Varicella is now available in the UK, but I don't require it anyway as I had chicken-pox when I was younger.
i see im not the only one then . I just posted in the aos forum to get some answers
but iwas initially quoted 80 aswell per shot by doc when i booked an appointment with him. he phoned back to day with the results of his research. i cant get it there cos they dont do it so wll have to find some travel clinic in another town :angry: and it will cost 115 per shot. :angry: :angry: :angry:
Vito checked with his doc and it looks like waiting till then will cost about 70 odd per shot. so now what do i do? :unsure: is it still worth doing here? if i wait till then will it cause major delays to my process or complications? ugg I still dont know about the tdap he didnt know what it was and i dont know if i need it? :unsure: is that gunna be a fortunte at the civil surgeon too?
From the NHS website the HPV vaccination is designed for girls aged 12-13 before they become sexually active. They state that it is not cost effective giving it to somone in their 20's as it will offer no protection at all unless you've never had sex. Total waste of money. I'm going to see if I can get it on the NHS, maybe with a bit of pleading lol.
here I am waiting on NOA2 and only just discovering the huge headaches and multitude of fees to come!!!!
Well- the UK police clearance form has changed but the other two countries Ive lived in India and Aus still have the same one so they will have to accept those....right....?
And is it cheaper in the USA as everything else seems to be or is it worth it trying to do it here?? Anyone found a great London clinic?
Missing someone gets easier everyday because even though you are one day further from the last time you saw them, you are one day closer to the next time you will.
Maybe if you all would take your discussions to the embassy forum, rather than here, there would not be so much confusion.
Not everyone from the UK reads the regional forum. In fact, few do. Embassy questions would be best served in the proper forum.
Poiteen ,
Here is the link for the Police certificate in the UK.http://www.acpo.police.uk/certificates.asp
Six months. However, on packet 3 the embassy quite clearly states that for visa purposes they will accept them as being valid for one year. :)
Thought I would just stop by and let everyone know I had my second HPV injection yesterday at the County Public Health Clinic. It was all very simple and easy. I had called around a few local Doctor's offices and had gotten quotes from $300+ for the shot, so decided to call the Country Clinic and they quoted me $135!!! I was expecting it to be hell but it really wasn't all that bad, took about an hour all in all and the staff were super nice and friendly. Will be going back for my third one there even though I will be married and on Alan's Insurance by then.
