I also picked the 1 seeds in the final four. I picked UCLA over Memphis though.

Everyone said UNC was the favorite.....WRONG!!!!

Now they are saying Memphis is the favorite....we'll see.

UNC was the favorite up until 9 pm tonight. Kansas just outplayed them. For UNC's part, they did make a strong comeback, down by over 20 at one point.

It's all about who plays better in one game. Remember, the best team doesn't always win the tourney.

Two best teams won tonight! Came back early from the lake and glad we did...it's crazy here in KC!!! Wish we were a few miles away in Lawrence though! Standing room only only Mass Street out there!

I remember when we were going to the championship game in 2003....it was madness but it was fun. People going crazy, the Rock Chalk chant everywhere...absolutely amazing experience I will never forget.

Hmm, I have to say Memphis have been very impressive in the past few games - though I did not expect Kansas to dismantle UNC like they did. Very few people in my pool predicted a Memphis-Kansas final (I wish I did).

I have to say, the commentary on CBS was soooo biased towards UCLA (and the objectable Kevin Love), I had to double check the scoreboard to confirm that Memphis were actually leading (usually be a pretty big margin).

CBS absolutely hates the KU-Memphis matchup. They won't get the ratings they wanted, but hey, the two best teams are playing to be #1!

The national media are infatuated with the two great white hopes of this year (Hansbrough and Love). It reminds me of John Madden's man crush on Brett Favre. There is absolutely no way in H#LL that the two of them can touch the talent and play of Michael Beasley. You put Hansbrough and Love against Beasley and ####### Vitale in a game to 15...Beasley and Vitale shut them out.

I agree. Before the UNC-KU game they were doing the pregame show and I honestly thought they were doing a documentary on UNC. There was hardly any mention of KU and their players. Everything was "Roy Williams ...." or "Tyler Hansbrough...." blah blah blah. I understand that he is AP player of the year and all that but the bias is getting to be a little bit too much.

Maybe if they spent enough time hyping both teams they would get the ratings they want.

I still don't agree that the two best teams are playing #1, but that is something everyone can argue about over and over again. Again, the best teams don't awlasy win the tourney, which is true of most sports. Sometimes they do, other times they do not.

What is it about the national sports media that believes that only teams from the coasts (preferably New York and LA) get good ratings? I would assume not having a team from certain areas only effects local affiliate ratings in the area of the team knocked out.

I remember a few years back, when my beloved Tigers knocked the Yankees out of the playoffs against all the conventional wisdom of the national sports media (who had been predicting a "Subway series" between the Mets and Yankees)and you could practically hear the sobbing through the television - oh nooeees, no Yankees no ratings! The idea that they got a Midwest series (Cards and Tigers) filled my heart with joy.

The best team ALWAYS wins. PERIOD. That's why the games are played. Maybe North Carolina was better on paper. But the games aren't played on paper.
