My fiancee has told me that she needs some help with form DS-230. I noticed that there is a question that asks if she has received assistance from anyone. My question is if anyone has answered yes to this question and gotten their visa. I don't want to do anything that would cause a problem...

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide...

Yes. My husband and I filled out the application together while we were both on MSN Messenger and he did say yes to that question, then put my name as the person who helped him.

It is acceptable to check "yes" on this if you helped in any way. It is completely acceptable to help your fiance/wife read and understand the questions in order that she answers them correctly.

It will not count against you or create a problem.

I marked "yes" on the DS-230 for my husband because I read the form and gave him a list of documents he needed to get. Then I used my computer to fill out the forms and scan/email them to him.

Thank you very much! I appreciate the quick and helpful responses I have gotten. I was concerned because that was the only question that was in all capital letters. Hehe.
