Has anyone gone to the interview with just the receipt for the No Impediment for Marriage document?

My fiance went today to the RGD and they said express would not be ready until April 4, and our interview is the 1st!!!

Should we go ahead to the interview with the receipt? Has anyone done this? He went to the medical yesterday and is picking up his police record on Thursday. What do you think?

Also, we have a No Impediment for Marriage document from the Dominican Republic which is his country of citizenship. He is just a resident of JM. Will they use this one and we should not worry about the JM one?

I emailed the consulate but no response...

THANKS!

I'm not a pro, but GIRL go. Let them BLUE SLIP you. My girlfriend went the same day as Gill and Nakia, but for some reason the embassy didn't get the medical (even though it was done 2 weeks before) and they were missing some other document. The CO told her it was a good thing that they did not reschedule and that they attended the interview even though they were missing documents. They were given a blue slip to return. They found out that the medical was delivered Tuesday morning, but was not attached to their file. Wishing you the best. You can always check with the RGD office and see if it may be ready before the 4th of April.

LP --

My fiance was told to come back in 7-10 days. Someone from the RGD office called him this morning and told him to pick it up at 1:30 today. He requested it last Friday 3/14. I guess it depends on how busy they are. So, PLEASE call them if you can or have him go back. Did he tell them he needed it before 4/1? Better yet, tell them he needs it 3/31. Did you get the police report.

I say go too. The worse they will do is blue slip you to come back in a few weeks.

How long has he been a resident of JA? I think he may need the non-impediment for both if long enough.

You may luck out and not get asked for any of it you are stressing about.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip
