I have to be in Chicago for an 8:30am meeting that I am leading.... there are 20 people waiting for me. I booked a flight yesterday, not trusting the reliability of United/Chicago weather to get me there on time first thing in the morning.

Well, my 3:43pm departure canceled due to Chicago weather and they were expecting the 10pm departure to cancel as well. So I booked on the 6am departure this morning and went home.

I had to get up at 3:45am this morning to make it for the 6am departure, only to find out that the flight has been delayed to depart at 8:30am. Crew rest due to late arrival of the aircraft last night. Sigh. I could have slept at least 2 more hours.

With the time difference, I'll be arriving in Chicago at 8:30am, obviously late for my meeting. By the time I take the CTA and cab to my meeting location, it's likely to be 10am..... and I'm 'supposed' to come back on the last flight of the night tonight. I packed a toothbrush just in case.

Business travel is SO over-rated. This is going to be a long day.

Well, I was thinking more along the lines of the originating airport because I didn't want to depress you about the Chicago rush hour. :lol: But I like the seat on the train bit! At least you won't need room for your "luggage"! :hehe:

Well, I was thinking more along the lines of the originating airport because I didn't want to depress you about the Chicago rush hour. :lol: But I like the seat on the train bit! At least you won't need room for your "luggage"! :hehe:

Where I lives, there's no such thing as rush hour. It's a pretty depressing part of Michigan. No luggage.... right! Only have my briefcase! Let's hope that's all I'll need today.

I meant the part that you were only carrying your briefcase and a toothbrush.... it could turn into a trapped-in-chicago-overnight-with-only-a-briefcase-and-a-toothbrush story. :lol:

Oh yikes...how annoying and depressing! O'Hare is ALWAYS delayed. I'm sure it's because of the rain but heck, it's been pouring here as well for 24 hours and they're still flying out of St. Louis.

Good that you came here to rant! Hope your day only gets better! :thumbs::star:

Umm, me thinks that your delays are due to the weather and flight cancellations in the DFW (Dallas) area and not Chicago weather.....The weather here is 42/cloudy. Hardly bad enough to cancel any flights.

agreed....what weather? It was maybe a bit foggy yesterday, but no rain.
