SSN arrived more than a month after.. GRRR!!

November 8, 2006- MARRIED @ San Francisco City Hall

November 21, 2006- Received official marriage certificate

Dec. 19, 2006- sent out AOS

Jan. 3, 2007- Cashed cheques for AOS and EAD

March 15, 2007- AOS interview; APPROVED!!

March 23, 2007- Welcome letter/notice received from mail

March 27, 2007- GREENCARD

Sept 5, 2007 - my first anniversary in the U.S

Jan 30, 2009 - Mailed I-751 removal of conditional residence status

Feb 2, 2009 - Package mailed 10:22 AM at Laguna Niguel, CA (CSC)

Feb 5, 2009 - Check cashed

Alright---tentative plans...and YES I'm looking for feedback so please do!

I have come to the conclsion that I'm not leaving my home. Sorry, US, you tried but I'm STAYING! And Javier will be here in 2008. Now, in the meantime, I am going to plan a lovely "princess" wedding down there in good old Ciudad Juarez. It will be on MY time and with everyone I love there to witness it. After that, we will begin with the I-130 process. I will come back here to Maryland. We will take our sweet time going through the process to end up with our interview...you guessed it...around August, 2008. That way, we're not sitting on our hands waiting this whole time-we will be doing the I-130. AND when Javier does come back, it will be with a green card. During the waiting period, Javier may or may not move to Ciudad Juarez and I may or may not move to El Paso. This is where we are....

It saddend me so much to hear your news. I understand the pain and misery of waiting and hoping- I too am in limbo.

Despite the time apart, I do think this is a good plan. It will allow things to be planned, and not just rushed into due to unforseen circumstances. And it will allow you to file a waiver when the time comes.

All in all...a good decision Melissa :thumbs:

03.05.2009......I-130 received at Embassy

03.06.2009......Received Police Cert

03.18.2009......I-130 Approved

09.10.2009......Medical Exam

09.23.2009......Embassy receives Notice of Readiness

10.13.2009......Received our interview date

10.29.2009......Successful interview!

11.5.2009........Visa received in post

11.7.2009........All the family flew to the US together :)

12.20.2009......Received Welcome to America letter

12.24.2009......10 year Greencard received in the mail

Today has been interesting...I'm trying to find someone who will treat Javier for a condition he doesn't have, in order to fulfill the "treatment" requirement. That's interesting in and of itself. Then, LOL, we found this like resort place only it charges $8,000 for a 30 day treatment. There's go to be a better way!!!!!

I hope that the plan lets you and Javier have everything you want, and that you can grow even closer during the next couple of years. :)

Believe it or not Melissa - with the "Treatment" issue I know what you are gouing through.

Stewart got a DUI in the states last summer...in NC. They required him to get alcoholism counseling so we had to pay HEAPS of money for him to sit in group sessions with TRUE alcoholics and get the counseling required to get the DUI "cleared."

It was the worst month ever for him because these were hard core drug addicts and alcoholics...and he isn't...just made a stupid desicion (i know you can relate...)

But we paid for it, got through it...and he knows more about alcoholism than he EVER wanted to.

It's frustrating but will be worth it for you in the end :)

Finally finished with immigration in 2012!
