USPS IS BS

Ok, I sent a big package to my fiance in Romania on April 13th, i even paid the extra to have it there in 3-5 days, insured it and everything was good. My mom took it up to the post office for me (she works at the VA and its near the PO, and she gets off at 7am so she took it for me), i gave her the money, and wrote his address on a paper for her to write on their paper (they always cover the part of the box i actually write his address on ).

Anyway she gives me the receipt, when i look at it the address is slightly wrong, she forgot to put the county on there, and in Romania you should put that so it doesnt confuse the underpaid postal workers.

Well i called the USPS and they did an address correction on it.

Its now May1 and Edy still has no package.

I sent him everything for his interview when he does have it (i do have copies just INCASE he never gets those), a tape of our son, some clothes, and stuff for his 2 year old brother for his birthday in May. Theres also pictures in there.

So ive called the USPS a NUMBER of times, and each time told "theres no information on your box, call back tomorrow"! Its been 2 weeks and still no info??? They said they are waiting for Romania to tell them whats with my package, Edy said he spoke to the Romanian postal service and they said they have no knowledge of the package, and not to count his blessing on ever receiving it. (nice huh)

Does anyone know what i can further do? I dont want the insurance on it, i want him to get the package. I mean if i have to take the insurance, fine, i can send again, but i would prefer he get THIS package.

It angers me that no one knows where my package is.

when you receive the noa2, i would send another packet just to be safe than sorry... but... USE DHL!!! way cheaper than ups or fedex... and they were always accurate in delivery to morocco.

yea i will do that. its the stuff in the package that i can not replace that has me upset. other than that i can make a new tape of joshua, and send new copies of the pics and visa paperwork. bla bla bla

oh well, life goes on

Well I already knew the Romanian Postal sucked, so i was hoping the USPS wasnt as bad.

But according to USPS they told me they are still responsible in making sure it makes it to its destination, and they still havent any word on if it even did that.

Atleast if the plane crashed it would be a better sence of closure instead of thinking of some Romanian sitting at home eating the candy i sent to my brother-in-law , wearing the shirts i sent Edy, and watching our sons tape i spent 5 months making
