#6, most gun lovers have a taste for the 'ol ultra-violence' , not to over-generalized ..but the ones i grew up with and know did/do

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Generalize much?

I thought this was funny and this thread needs a smile.

We love violence, sad fact, but very true.

It isn't violence that gun-rights supporters love, but the ability to protect themselves against those who do love violence without having to depend on government officials.

So you're saying that all gun-rights supporters hate violence? ;)

Certainly not all, but to blanketly state that gun-rights supporters love violence would be a gross generalization.

I personally know a LEO that is a drunk and has handguns all over his house unlocked. You can't say that Joe Public isn't responsible enough to own a handgun but LEO are.

Most of the Martial Artists I know don't go out to bar looking for fights.

Wild west shootouts are a myth. Most people behaved because citizens were armed. When the James-Younger gang TRIED to robbed Northfield it wasn't the local Sheriff that stopped them it was armed citizens.

I have never found this to be true. Most fellow gun owners I know work in nuclear field like me and are subject to background checks and psychological tests. Several guys I know own lots of guns and have never even hit a person let alone pull a gun on someone.

I just think some people look for any excuse to disarm people.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

I'm not saying anything about anyone here - but its a different culture in the UK.

Ownership of Knives and guns is restricted (and banned) in the UK - in that order. So the people I did meet who were into collecting knives tended to be the folks who had already had brushes with the law and weren't really bothered about breaking it. Not career criminals mind - but boisterous troublemakers with short tempers or who didn't think much of driving after 6 pints of beer.
