They roll your petition up into a tight roll, and use it to hit kittens and baby seals over the head.

They also perform name checks (background checks) before forwarding the approved petition to the appropriate embassy, for homeland security purposes.

Some administrative processing but for K-Visas the time there is quite short, NVC is where USCIS sends the petition to be forwarded to the appropriate consulate or embassy.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

I was told by NVC rep that "processing" involves inputting our data off the petitions into the State Department database, among other things.

Wow ... the turnaround at NVC, it's really fast isn't it ? Hopefully our petition will be at the NVC soon and then winging it's way to London.

Today I'll research what we need to get for the next stage now the excitement has died down.

More name checks, eh? Bet that's good news for the people who go into Extended Review at CSC.

If it's any consolation to anybody reading this...we had a really long extended review/background check/whatever it was.. at CSC and then flew through NVC in 2 days flat!! Whatever the huge delay at CSC was for us, it was not repeated at NVC.

Gratz on your noa2 Eli!!

Lol, I kinda figured. I had heard that even though someone goes through a long thorough check like we did, they can still encounter the same issue along the way at NVC, embassy or AOS. I was pretty nervous that would happen to us cuz it's been like that. It would be nice if they could stamp people's file saying "no further obnoxious background checks necessary, these ppl are fine" lol.

It seems ridiculous that anyone would have to be rechecked after all that.
