Ok I've read through what's going to be needed to put together for Kris to bring with once he get's his packet 3 and eventually his interview date. What I'm confused on is how necessary are originals? I'm sending my original divorce decree to him but is it really necessary to send my original birth and marriage certificates? They look just like the copies. (no raised stamp etc). I can understand the divorce decrees but the rest is where it muddles for me.

Any thoughts would be great as I want to get this info sent soon since we all know how quick the US and Royal mail is.

If you go to Vitalcheck.com you can order an official copy of your birth certificate from most states. I received mine in about 5 days. I figured it was well worth the $29.95 and didn't want to risk the chance of a RFE. Everywhere I've read says to send the original.

Good Luck

I have my original BC but from what we've read only the beneficiary needs their original BC. The copy i am sending is a mirror image (the state i was born in doesn't do raised seal stamps) so there will be no difference. But i will be sending the original Marriage and divorce decrees... Just has to wait a day to do so.
