I just found out I don't qualify for one :(

How come?

One of the questions on the calculator thing was are you or your spouse if filing jointly a non-resident alien...and that caused me to be disqualified. I always thought I would probably not get the amount that a normal married couple would get considering he is a non-resident alien but I didn't think we'd be disqualified altogether! Very disappointing...

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

We'll probably get a paper check since we owe as well... :crying: That means we won't get it until mid June. I'd have liked to use part of it for hubster's naturalization filing... back into the government's pocket.. -_-

I don't know your situation but just in case your misunderstanding things, you do know that a green card holder isn't a "non-resident" alien. If you already knew this, sorry I just wanted to help.

Typical give and take method.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

Yeah I wish they could just tell us if we are getting $1200, I could subtract the taxes we owe, then I could subtract the naturalization filing fee, and then ooops, nothing left over.

it will make up for some of what we had to pay in taxes but not all of it. :ranting:

This year I paid over $6000 in federal taxes net. If they allow the tax cuts to expire that will go up about $2000. Maybe more now that Luz is working. Don't buy the myth that the tax cuts were for the rich. I hope that if McCain is elected he will push for them to become permanent. I would rather see a reduction in government spending rather than in increase in taxes. The entitlements is what is really killing our deficit.
