anyone that has recently received their green card, could you please describe the envelope? does it say anywhere on it, return to sender or anything of that nature? i'm changing my address with the post office and want to make sure if it will get forwarded or not.

They never used to forward green cards; post office was under instructions not to. The envelope just had a return address as far as I remember. Also, I think they changed it so that green cards may be forwarded now?

green card received: may 5, 2007

removal of conditions timeline:

03/26/2009 - received in VSC

07/20/2009 - card production ordered!

NO... My wife's did not... Essentially a standard plain white envelope.

Mine was in a plain ordinary envelope. I always wondered how the post office would 'know' not to forward a green card since they are not identified and there is nothing on it that says, 'Do not forward".

I don't remember for sure but, I thought the envelopes had "Return Service Requested" on them.

08/17/08: Mailed N400 to TSC

08/19/08: USPS attempted delivery

08/20/08: TSC received N400

08/21/08: TSC cashed check

09/02/08: Received NOA...........Priority date: 08/20/08

..............................................Notice date : 08/22/08

09/02/08: Received Biometrics Notification

09/18/08: Biometrics completed - Charlotte DO

10/24/08: Received Interview Letter

12/08/08: Interview @ 1:00pm. APPROVED!

01/05/09: Oath Ceremony 10:00AM. Now officially a USC!!!

01/17/09: Applied for US Passport and passport card

01/28/09: Received US Passport

01/29/09: Received US passport card

01/29/09: Received naturalization certificate back from passport office
