Holy black licorice Batman! I go out of town for a few short days and its crazy in here. Bashing, Fraud, Marriage (which I fully intend to grill you about fully, JJ)!!

anywho, for the record, I am neither the evil Sarah nor the other maybe algerian maybe not Sara, just plain old 'been around here forever and probably should move on but cant because I am just addicted to the fun and the drama' Sara. so there.

AND

I also hate black licorice and jellybeans. I do like those weird pastel colored creamy-ish candies that are made specific to whatever holiday is at hand. I got some good bunny ones at whole foods.

Careful, she has an cashe of pineapples and can launch them at any given moment.... :P

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

He wasn't invited because he's already exceeded his lifetime quota of Arab bashing.

There's no such thing as "too much" Arab bashing B)

Why?

Well, you *are* familiar with mawilson's posts, I presume. Would you expect anything different?

Sure, I am very familiar with his posts, I have refuted many of their false claims in "Off Topic." I want to hear from him why he thinks that way in this forum. I was surprised that no one said anything when he wrote "there's no such thing as "too much" Arab bashing." It sounds racist to me.

Yeah, that's what I mean. It's just par for the course, and sadly, we've all become desensitized.

Unfortunately, that seems to be quite true, and it's very disappointing.

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Even a single cell animal knows he's been injured. Thanks for giving this thread greater visibility.

I just don't agree with the perception that when Arab-bashing occurs (and yes, it happens a LOT,) that no one says anything about it. Plenty of us do -- many names come to mind that I could list here (including the OP and several in this very thread) but I don't want to accidentally omit anyone who *does* speak up.

I agree that *more* of our members could and should speak up.

But the truth is (unfortunately) that many members have been intimidated by the continuing tactics of several members on this site -- the labels of "terror supporter," "terrorist importer," "Hamas-lover," etc. (even "anti-Semite" and "Nazi,") not to mention the nasty remarks about their husbands and their relationships with them, even the posting of inflammatory pics that are intended to personally ridicule particular members.

Unfortunately, many people are afraid to stick their necks out because they're still dealing with their immigration cases -- it's already hard enough for many people from MENA. Many have been terrorized from even daring to speak their opinion on this forum.

Most of you have seen the types of vicious attacks I've personally been subjected to on this site. Of course, the perpetrators are still here, and still at it. They're not going to stop, even though they're not going to shut me up, either. But not everyone has the stomach for this kind of thing -- they don't want to be "the target" -- and I can't blame them.

I agree that it is very sad (not to mention ironic) that some of our own members would post bigoted/insulting remarks about Arabs/Muslims. A few have even publicly encouraged the type of tactics I described above. I do wonder how their own relationships with Arabs/Muslims can survive this type of mentality.

But thankfully they are a very small (and yes, ignorant) minority.

To all those (both MENA members and others) who continue to call it out wherever they see it -- thank you.

Any time sister. Like I said, I learn from you as much as from the person next door. No. Wait. I don't know my next door neighbor

The problem is that u can not change the mind of those that believe and act like that.......it turns into a big fight that is never ending......mostly i just ignore and read past what they have posted........people that are out to hurt others that they have no understanding of really do not feel good about them selfs so if they can give pain to someone else and make them feel bad they then feel better........u can never force someone to see ur side of anything if they only see what they believe is correct and refuse to look at any other side.........its like being on a one way street trying to go towards the on coming traffic......being a Muslim is never easy.........and it is very difficult for others to see us as a religion of Peace when yes.......there are those committing horrible acts using Islam as a reason for doing it.....but by arguing with people that say something rude or mean towards us we are not making any headway the best way of teaching is by example....its kind of like being with friends that stoled something and them getting caught we can jump up and down all day long claiming our innocents but in the end they will not believe us because we were associated with the friends that did do the stealing........sure thats a simplified explanation my English is not so great that i can put it in other words..........but in essence it is the same....when ever someone says something to me rudely about Islam i pray for them to find peace and happiness........
