Congratulations first!

You will need to get a TD shot here in the US since we didn't have that at st. lukes and find a civil surgeon to have all your medical records transcribed to the I-693A, you need that for AOS.

You will also need a total of 6, 2x2 pics, 2 for G-325A, 2 for I-765 and 2 for I-131. Also, you will need separate evidences when filing for the 3 applications. You can find out more when you read the guides here in VJ.

Good luck!

As I've posted here many times before, a lot of us don't bother getting the TD vaccine.

We just send the DS-3025 and no I-693a with the I-485 and get approved with no RFE.

You do not need a new medical as long as your medical for the K-1 visa has been done within the last year. That medical will travel with your case to join your AOS application when the time comes. You will go to (or phone) a civil surgeon and ask them to copy your DS-3025 onto an I-693A (a supplement to the medical forms). You do not have to go to the nearest civil surgeon to you, some of them will tell you that you need to redo the whole medical, some will overcharge you like crazy. We used Dr. L. E. Arnold from Texas. We mailed the DS-3025 and other documents she asked for and a check for $20 (cheap) and it was there and back in 6 days. Going to a local civil surgeon would be quicker but it just depends on if you can find one who will do it and don't charge you an arm and a leg for it

As for your checklist, you need to include evidence for each of the applications (I-485, I-765, I-131) separately. There is a good checklist for all of this here, but I'll copy it into this thread as well.

I-485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR ADJUST STATUS

▪ Copy of passport's entry stamps

▪ Certified True Copy of Marriage Certificate

▪ Copy of Birth Certificate

G-325A Biographic Information Sheet (4 original copies)▪ Two (2) passport-type pictures (lplaced in a small plastic bag, labeled with name of intending immigrant & alien #)

I-693A Vaccination Supplement (sealed in an envelope)

▪ DS-3025 Vaccination Documentation Worksheet

▪ TD shot record

I-864 AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT

(signed and prepared by the USC spouse)

Copy of the Federal Income Tax Return for the year 2005-2007

Copy of 2005-2007 Tax Transcript

Copy of W-2s for the year 2005-2007

Copy of Employment Letter from (First Job)

Copy of pay stubs for the month of September 2007 - February 2008

Copy of Employment Letter from (Second Job)

Copy of pay stubs for the month of September 2007 - February 2008

I-765 APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT DOCUMENT

I would not claim that "a lot" of people do this. Why risk an RFE if you don't have to? Why recommend for someone to do it the "wrong" way if they don't have to?

Actually, a "lot" of people do do this. The reason that it is not "wrong" is because the I-485 is a multi-purpose form. Some countries (not all) allow K non-immigrant visa applicants to defer their vaccinations until after they arrive in the US, which is why they request the I-693A with the AOS submission. If the beneficiary's vaccinations were completed as part of the visa approval process, they are not required to submit the supplemental vaccination form because all that information is enclosed in the brown envelope handed in at the POE. As you have noted, the envelope is then forwarded on to USCIS where it will be consolidated with the I-485 submission. This is not to say that a USCIS employee processing the I-485 will not request the information in an RFE. Sometimes the medical gets "lost" during the transfer, and sometimes the employee does not have a complete understanding of the USCIS rules and regulations applicable to a K-1 visa.

It's true that many people (either intentionally or by mistake) don't get the TD vaccine, then send the DS-3025 and no I-693a and get approved without RFE. And if you get an RFE, the worst it will do is cost you maybe a couple of weeks delay. If you don't get an RFE you save the time and expense of getting the TD vaccine and the I-693a.

I'm usually a "by the book" guy, but this one was a no-brainer. BTW, I have a 100% track record with USCIS. Everything I've ever done with USCIS has been approved without RFE.

I knew all of this, but the fact is people still get RFE's for it. I never suggested he get the TD shot because David didn't either, but I do think that it would be wise to go ahead and get his vaccinations transferred to the form, it is cheap and takes very little time. That way, if he DOES come across one of those officers who doesn't know the procedures as well as someone else he won't have any problems....

But this is in the end all up to the OP and how much he wants to go "by the book" as the previous poster said. I know people have done this (I still don't believe it is most) and get through fine. But I also know that people have done this and have ended up in a mess. If it were me, I'd want to make sure everything goes smoothly if I can.

Peace!

Just thought I would jump in to say we also sent in just the DS-3025 and were approved without any problem. Figured worst case we could have an RFE and it would just take a few weeks to correct. We had an interview and when I asked the officer if everything was complete he looked at the DS-3025 and replied that the medical and vaccination records were fine.

:) We went to a local Department of Health clinic for the Td shot & it cost us $44. Then we contacted a civil surgeon to transcribe my vaccination record to I-693A or supplemental form to I-693 for $25. When we went there yesterday, we found out that I missed 1 MMR dose so they did it + transcription for a total of $52. Try to canvass by phone before you go. BTW, I had Tdap shot not Td and it's sore for 3 days. Good luck! Edited by RIDION
