so my wife recieved the NOA and has a biometrics schedule for next week.

few questions:

1. Do I Need to appear(I am the spouse - U.S citizen)?

2. Her state issued I.D's(drivers license) is set to expire the same day the conditional green card expires(This year, May 2008). Is the NOA the ticket to extend her I.D's while she waits for paperwork? If so, does she need to make a copy of the NOA? On biometrics day, will she recieve anything that will allow her to extend her drivers license, etc etc?

3. anything she should expect for biometrics? anything she should bring besides Alien card?

thanks.

so the I797C/Notice of action is not the one to extend her green card?

when will she get that document that she can use to extend her ID?

The I797C/Notice of action explicitly extends the green card for one year. Does yours not say that?

I have the same question,too!

I got the I-797/NOA today. It does say something like my conditional resident status is extended for a period of one year.

During the one-year extension I am authorized employment and travel.

But on this I-797, it doesn't say a period of one year mean from when to when.

I am confused about it's the I-797 was the extension letter that people talked about? :huh2:

That is a good question. I had assumed that it extends the green card for a year but after reading the letter again I can see where it might mean it extends the residence for one year from the NOA date.

Look for the following wording on your I-797:

"Your conditional resident status is extended for a period of one year from date of expiration on your Form I-551, conditional resident card. During the one-year extension you are authorized employment and travel."

My GC expired June 6, 2007. Therefore, the extension letter works until June 6, 2008.

Then what you got was the biometric appt. letter which is different from NOA1. Lots of people have had their biometric appt. letter arrive befroe the NOA1. It should not be a problem and you should get your NOA1 in another week or so. If not you can call them or schedule an Infopass appt.

That is strange. My NOA only say" your conditional resident status is extended for a period of one year."

It doesn't mention anything about how this a period of one year counted. :huh2:

Just mine? Other people seem have no this kind of questions~~~
