I'm currently on active duty in the Navy, however I will be leaving the Navy on May 26 2008. From this period on I won't be receiving any income until i find a new job. With my current income I'm not outside of the poverty limitations. My question is since I will be unemployed should i have my parents become joint sponsors with me? Thanks for any help, I'm very new to these forums.

If you are still employed before filing the AOS, you indicate this, however, if you file after becoming un-employed, you should use a joint sponsor.

I-864 has to do with income or assets capable of supporting the immigrant, if you are un-employed, and assets are not more than 3 times 125% poverty-guideline, then you will need a joint-sponsor.

So I'm still a little confused. I'll be filing while I'm employed but I will be unemployed shortly afterwards (about a month or so after filing). Should I go ahead and have my parents co-sponsor or just file as the sole sponsor?

Just file as solo sponsor, you qualify at the time you fill out the I-864.
