I have a ways to go, but just wanted to know if packet 3 had to be mailed from USA or can I just download forms and give it to my fiance in May when I go to visit him so he can have it in hand when needed and he can send it.

Thanks everyone!

You probably should post this in the Europe and Eurasia forum, but to answer your question packet 3 (if your consulate does a packet 3) can be mailed from anywhere in the world. But the consulate will only send it to your fiance, so that's where it's going to wind up first. The consulate will not mail you, the USC, anything.

Go to http://turkey.usembassy.gov/visa_forms.html

You should find everything you need. I downloaded and filled out all the forms (for Packet 3), signed my copies & UPS'ed it to my fiancé. Then she signed her/added documents as per the instructions. Make sure he has everything the K1/K2 instructions ask for!

I kept calling Ankara (for 10 days) until they got it. I then had my fiancé UPS Packet 3 (you have to send it via UPS). Only after Packet 3 is received, will you get an Interview Date.

For the Medical, arrange it for 1 - 2 days before the interview, unless he lives in Istanbul/Ankara...

Good Luck!

Jon

*corrected post* my pc messed this up....

I didn't wait for my fiancé to get Packet 3 in the post; it showed up 1 week before the interview!

(Mailing to Izmir took almost 2 months  )
