NVC phone number busy signal?

AM I the only one who frequently gets a busy signal calling NVC? I guess it just means that there are so many of us calling to find out what's going on. If only this process had better info available to us. Everything being done behind a cloak of silence is a little annoying.

Try calling in the evening hours. That was the only time I got through!!

Yup, that's the number I dialed, I got it from the state department website.

I am ringing too but dont get the busy signal but cannot get through to an operator. The number I am calling is 603 334 0700.

I was able to get through at 11:30 Eastern Time. I think I have seen others who have said they were able to get through after as early as 8 Eastern Time, but I was not able to get through when I called at 7:30 their time. A few people have said calling after 10 pm (EST) works.

I wish their system allowed us to check with the automated system or at least wait on hold for an operator if no one is available immediately. Unfortunately, it doesn't.

I've got the busy signal several times...

Just keep trying... you'll get through.. If you call in the evening, it seems to be better..

Maybe try calling them first thing in the morning their time. That should be about lunchtime in the UK (I think it is a 5 hour difference anyway). I don't know if that will work, but it makes sense that fewer people would be calling them then. They will send a letter to the USC when they've sent the petition to the consulate, and that will have your new case number in it. NVC is very fast, so even if you never manage to get through by phone, you will know soon that it's on its way.

It would not let me edit to add this: In case you don't already know, they open at 7:30 am Eastern Time. I think that's 12:30 in the UK.

Every time I have called I have gotten a busy signal...just kept calling back until I got through...

first attempt, went into the all operators busy spin cycle and then next time I got busy signals. I'll try again
