I want to thank everyone out there who has sent us their prayers and good wishes. You don't know how much it has meant to us to have your support.

As for the interview, Inusah it went well, but they want him to come back in June (#######?!!?!?!?!?!?!) with more pictures from 2006 (hello, we only knew each other for ONE DAY) and letters (#######???). They scheduled him for June 2nd.

I know it is not bad news, it could be worse. We are not in AP/AR (I called DOS, they said just bring more pictures and letters). Inusah explained the reason why we had no pictures from 2006 and the CO was satisfied witht he answer but said to bring letters. I have THREE letters that he has sent me in the 1 year and 7 months we have been together. 3. I have sent him some care packages and I have the receipts for those and he has some letters and cards that I sent him (when they got to him) so I guess they are going to have to be happy with that.

The CO also asked him when we were planning to get married. Inusah replied July/August and the CO said to be on the safe side, it would be better to have the visa issued in June. #######?????? The visa is valid for SIX MONTHS!!!! That would put us in SEPTEMBER if it was issued today.

I just don't understand it. Inusah said the CO was convinced we had a real relationship. So, why all this about coming back with more pictures and letters? I just don't get it.

Inusah sounded optimistic about everything. I will not be happy until we have that visa in hand. I thought the waiting was over...I guess I was wrong. Now I have another f'ing interview to look forward to. I am just so tired of all the waiting.

I will post a more complete review later.

I was so shocked by this post that I sent it to my husband just to prepare him for the foolishness that the embassies cause with their calous behavior. I know it's easy to say keep waiting, meanwhile your lives are practically on hold. I am sending you strength and courage for the last home stretch. Perhaps we do need a separate site to share our stories of frustration, abuses of power by embassy employees, etc. My husband went to the U.S. Embassy in Dakar four times and waited all day only to be told four times that they refused to notarize a copy of his passport (their website states they do this for $30) for our U.S. tax purposes. Form W-7 requires it. Senegal is not part of the Hague Convention, so it was either that or send the original for 12 weeks (my husband travels quite a bit, not an option). He had to spend $100 US to send me the passport so that I could get it notarized. I know there are many stories in which people are simply doing as they please because they can. We cannot protest because we know they will make us wait even longer. There should be a watch dog agency over USCIS. I am sending my prayers (in return) to you, my sista. Keep the faith and know that the love and respect that has developed over such a long period of time will keep you two together long and strong. Blessings...

Just trying to muster the energy (and the money) to do this again.

The embassies are DOS, not USCIS. And I agree with you totally. Or have like mystery shoppers, you know what I mean. Who go in and pretend to need help to see what's really happening. Only problem is I don't think they have any customer service goals. So, they're not failing what they are not trying to achieve to begin with.

I love the mystery shopper idea! Zee, I'm so sorry. I won't repeat all that has been said here but please know you are in my thoughts and prayer's.

On the Embassy note.... I have written to everyone I can think of to tell them what a F@&!$% process this. And it's not just with the visa's. My SO is Nigerian and we met for the first time in Ghana. I had been told I should "check in" with the American Embassy when I get there. I fretted and fretted over that and finally my SO said... let's just go do it. We went there..... what a JOKE that was. People were standing around everywhere waiting for assistance and the people working there were doing nothing! When we finally got up there, they told us that the person who register's American's was on vacation and to come back in one week. I thought to myself, well by that time, I've been here a week and a half, only have a few more days.... if something were to happen to me in that week... I guess I'd be screwed!!!!!

Ok..... that's my soap box, lol.

Zee, we're all thinking of you!
