I want to thank everyone out there who has sent us their prayers and good wishes. You don't know how much it has meant to us to have your support.

As for the interview, Inusah it went well, but they want him to come back in June (#######?!!?!?!?!?!?!) with more pictures from 2006 (hello, we only knew each other for ONE DAY) and letters (#######???). They scheduled him for June 2nd.

I know it is not bad news, it could be worse. We are not in AP/AR (I called DOS, they said just bring more pictures and letters). Inusah explained the reason why we had no pictures from 2006 and the CO was satisfied witht he answer but said to bring letters. I have THREE letters that he has sent me in the 1 year and 7 months we have been together. 3. I have sent him some care packages and I have the receipts for those and he has some letters and cards that I sent him (when they got to him) so I guess they are going to have to be happy with that.

The CO also asked him when we were planning to get married. Inusah replied July/August and the CO said to be on the safe side, it would be better to have the visa issued in June. #######?????? The visa is valid for SIX MONTHS!!!! That would put us in SEPTEMBER if it was issued today.

I just don't understand it. Inusah said the CO was convinced we had a real relationship. So, why all this about coming back with more pictures and letters? I just don't get it.

Inusah sounded optimistic about everything. I will not be happy until we have that visa in hand. I thought the waiting was over...I guess I was wrong. Now I have another f'ing interview to look forward to. I am just so tired of all the waiting.

I will post a more complete review later.

Sorry to hear of the delay in issuing the visa and wishing you all the best on getting more evidence together.

There is hope that the visa will be issued after the second interview. Im sorry things turned out this way, but God has His reasons. Keep praying, Sis. It's gonna be alright. Remember, Delayed, but not Denied!

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Thanks everyone :)

I have to keep telling myself that this does not interfere with our plans because we were not planning for him to be here until August. So its not like we have to change our plans.

It would just be nice to be done with this part of the process already.

*hugs* I know how nerve wracking it can be to wait any longer, especially when it comes to dealing with the embassy again. The good thing is that it doesn't interfere with your plans AND it seems as if he will get the visa once he returns with the needed items. My husband I went through the same thing. We had a second appt because they "lost his medical exam". He brought it with him on the 2nd date and sure enough he was approved within 10 mins of entering the building. It definately could be worse for you. June will be here before you know it.

I had to come out of a meeting so that I could read this entire post. I called Samuel and told him. He said the embassy is full of !@#$!!!! We are all still out here supporting and waiting with you Zee.

Keep your head up.

Much love,

Erika

OK, after talking to my fiance it seems like things are not as dire as I thought. It seems like the CO was convinced that we had evidence (he said our evidence was overwhelming). It looks like the second interview is to pick up the visa because they want to issue it closer to the day we want to get married (August). So, basically, they want us to come back with snail mail letters so that they can issue the visa.

Okay. I know it doesn't take much to set me over the edge these days, but I did actually cry at your note. The bloody embassy makes me sick. They think they are doing you a "favor" by putting you through this nonsense. But I will refocus and try to remember that you need support and encouragement right now. The reality, is you'll get the visa. The hassle in getting the visa is the hard part. I'm sorry that they didn't just say, you're approved, come back for your visa stamp. But God has his own timing. Get together what you have and I'm sure Inusah is just feeling positive and trying to keep you calm. We'll still be here for you. Bassi and I will be going in for our first interview (hopefully our only interview) on June 24th. So, we'll be right along with you on the wait. Keep your spirits up girl!

Thank you so much everyone! I have gotten so many PMs and messages and it makes us feel so loved :luv:

I got the news from Inusah this morning as I was literally stepping out the door to go to work. I spent the better part of an hour crying to my sister (who is here with me on her spring break) and with my mom on the phone. I just needed to let it all out. I can honestly say that I have never cried as much as I have since I started this process.

After I got all that pent up emotion out of my system, I called Inusah and we talked. He, unlike me, is feeling very positive about all this. I asked him if it would have made a difference if I was there today and he said no. Before the CO made his decision he asked Inusah where he worked and what he did. Inusah thinks that because (1) we are getting married in August and (2) he lives in Accra, the CO was just using the opportunity to get him to go back with more evidence for the heck of it  . I mean really, the CO said we had "overwhelming evidence". The CO "advised" that it would be better if we had the visa issued closer to our wedding and he did say that if Inusah came with the letters that we would get the visa.

I called my dad and he said "Just play by their rules and get what you want".
