K2 - AP

Although it's still pretty far off, I'm trying to get info about this.

After we move to the US, I probably won't 'need' AP (I might as my mother has a heart condition but she's not 'sick' at the moment so I'm guessing I wouldn't qualify for AP) but my child WILL need to go back to the UK if pos so she can visit with her father.

I was wondering if anyone of you in a similar situation got AP for their K2 child?

Or if that reason was sufficient for AP?

She's old enough to travel alone so that part isn't an issue - and if worst somes to worst I can pay for her dad to come to the US to see her (obviously I prefer not to have go that route tho).

correc tme if I'm wrong but I thought everyone could get AP.

Only emergency AP you can't get unless you qualify. Am I right or did I misunderstand something??

OK so she CAN get AP - Im hoping even Emergency AP due to visiting dad in UK - just not sure if thats a 'valid' (in eyes of authorities) reason for Emergency AP or not...otherwise it will be MONTHS before he sees her and they have a good relationship that I want to keep going (just cos WE don't get on is immaterial).

She'll be in and out of the US at least once a year (summer break for 4 weeks and every other xmas)..

Anyone actually do this? Just looking for confirmation its doable to be honest.
