You know...I never did understand the concept of jealousy when it came to the approvals of others.

I mean...I might have been frustrated about the process or thought it was unfair. But I don't think I was/am jealous. Everybody paid the same fees and waited in the same line as me. If the line moved in their favor, well then...it just did.

Well, honestly, hand on heart, you are a better person than I am. I can be happy for someone but jealous at the same time. I mean, who hasn't been jealous of someone else who has got something that they want?

*smile*

I suppose - well I know - that I used to be jealous of others when I was younger. About material things like a house, or a car, or a really great pair of shoes. :P

As I've gotten older though, I've seen this marvelous thing called karma. It tends to equalize things out a bit.

And I might have been a bit jealous for 'moments' in peoples lives that I wished were mine. But now I really think I've got quite a lot of great moments of my own and don't really feel the need to take away from the joy of others. We all need more happy moments.

Hmm, are we thinking my jealous is causing karma to bite me in the #### by making me wait longer? Cos if so i'm in for a loooooong wait - I have no control over whether or not I wish I was getting my approval when others do. Isn't it only natural??

I think any respectful conversation that can distract us for a little while is worth the time it takes. For those of us waiting...we've got nothing but time to pass. For those who aren't...thank you for coming around and giving us a bit of distraction and wisdom to get us through.

The only pang of jealousy I felt hapenned a week or two after I mailed off the I-129F. I was participating in the "February filers progress report thread"(or some such name) and there was a person there who's SO was Cuban. She got her NOA2 in 5 days! I remember being a little teensy bit jealous then...especially since I knew I had 3 more months to wait to get my turn. I researched after, and realized the whole process is different for Cuba....but I was still a little jealous at how fast the petition was approved.

Otherwise, I chalked things up to that's just how it is. :)
