I just wanted to start a thread for people in my situation. Our NOA date is 12/4/2007 and are still waiting on our NOA2. It is being processed at the California office. I'm guessing that it'll be here sometime in April (about a 4 month wait) but I'm not sure. Anyone get their NOA2 yet?

Also, what exactly needs to be done once I get the NOA2? Thanks in advance for any help you give me!

I'm hoping that April will be your month. Check out the guides and other information in the guides tab - this will help a great deal. Also do a little reading from the US embassy website which may give you a listing of documents to prepare for the consular stage. The US citizen has pretty much done all they need to do - except for the very important I-134 - the foreign fiancee has a lot to do, however, and should probably get started now. The police reports can take the most time to get done, however, I think you have plenty of time.

Use the resources of the site - they are a great help in understanding this process. Good Luck!!

I hear and feel you. I am a CSC december filer too; actually my noa1 is just a couple of days after you, and I am still waiting as well. I was touched on Dec. 28th, but ever since then, nothing, zip, nada, rien. Just empty space. It is driving me nuts.

CSC should be condemned to experience some of the same emotions us vjers go through while waiting.

But yes, here's hoping for the best, that April is our month

I have seen so many approvals where the case was not "touched" atal. Touched is a vj interpretation of the change of the "status date" on the uscis website. If you signed up on uscis website, and setup your account with your WAC number, then every time the "status date" on the website changes, the vj community calls it a touch.

So, some people go without any, and some people get a multitude. This date changes when your case, at the discretion of the person handling it at the moment, choses to scan it into the system for whatever reason (working on it, moving it to some body's desk, looking at some aspect of it e.t.c.). I say at the "discretion", because some people get approved without their "status date" ever changing, which to me means that whoever handles may or may not chose to scan it into the system any time they are doing something with it.

I hope that is clear. :innocent:

Unfortunately, there's nothing for your fiance to do at this time. A Japanese fiance can't order the police certificate or get the medical exam (fiance's can not go to their own doctor in Japan, they have to go to one on the list the embassy sends in packet 3) until the embassy sends out the information in packet 3 (after you receiving the NOA2 and the case is sent from CSC/VSC to NVC and then NVC to the embassy) But as stated above, read the guides and start preparing the I-134 so you'll have it ready when the time comes. Good luck!
