What an insult towards Nigerians and to the country....so not cool. My Nigerian husband is very very educated and so is alot of other Nigerians...scamming people is the LAST thing from their minds...if you do your research on Nigeria, you would see that the country is very rich with natural resources. It is also a country that has over 135,031,164 people and it is not proper to think that all the people are corrupted in a country that populated. I do not understand where all your negativity comes from...seriously, turn that negativity into something POSITIVE!!!!!

What planet are you living on??

I saw no posts directed towards your husband.

I know several Nigerians and they laugh with me at the scammers for which their country is well known.

It seems like you know little of Nigeria itself.

Lagos has the largest slum in all of Africa...and much in-fighting exists within the country.

A simple GOOGLE search on NIGERIAN 419 SCAMS will show many sites that are dedicated to spoofing Nigerians scams as well as the warnings that exist on the US Consulate web site regarding Nigerians scams.

I have personally received several of these offers to help someone get 28 million out of the country blah blah blah.

This has been on US TV so any times that I dont even watch them anymore.

I used to bait them a little and play along until I just got tired of them....now I read them, laugh and delete them.

You need to stop being so sensitive and realize some of the stuff that is happening there.

They deserve any any insults until the govt there cracks down on this.

I am sorry that you feel that Nigeria deserves to be insulted....WOW....what a insulting and ignorant thing to say. I am not a people/country basher and NO country/person is perfect.........unless you can walk on water !! I did not like someone saying "scamming is all Nigeria is good for" because it is so far from the truth!!!

There are lots of scammers in Romania, and my husband is from there, but i dont get psycho over it. i know my husband doesnt need to money scam :)

Calm down, no one was putting down nigeria, or nigerians, they were posting something that had an outcome and it happened to be in nigeria

Hes making a point tho, this thread is about NIGERIAN scammers, not world scammers, and yes Nigeria is known to have ALOT of them. Agreed, every country has them, but the thread was about Nigeria. The "No offence to Afrian Americans" couldve been rethought tho :)

Actually, I think Jesse started the thread because he found the comment "avoid the lengthy immigration process" to be funny.

A marriage based visa is always faster than waiting for an immigrant visa number. So the comment in the article is accurate.

As for being insulted - why don't you all save it for the day somebody makes an up-front, personal, rude comment to your foreign-born spouse?

Pick your battles.

This reminds me, I won about 3 mil. over the weekend. I just need to contact the guy with my banking info so he can wire it all into my account! Or maybe I'll have to go pick it up in Johannesburg, I'll let you all know!

to this day, I've still never recieved one of those... I feel neglected!!!! :crying:
