In case someone is SUPER bored and looking for an uninteresting read, this is about a Nigerian money scam, currently in progress:

I think I was just amused by this tidbit:

For you, I would recommend that you apply for the [K-3 & V

Visa] "U.S. Entry Visa for Spouse", you will stand in as my Spouse and this

should be able to speed things considerably, as opposed to going through the

lengthy immigration process.

What an insult towards Nigerians and to the country....so not cool. My Nigerian husband is very very educated and so is alot of other Nigerians...scamming people is the LAST thing from their minds...if you do your research on Nigeria, you would see that the country is very rich with natural resources. It is also a country that has over 135,031,164 people and it is not proper to think that all the people are corrupted in a country that populated. I do not understand where all your negativity comes from...seriously, turn that negativity into something POSITIVE!!!!!

To Blessed to be stressed:) I realize that all things have a purpose and a time.....have faith and the Lord Almighty will provide... when the time is right, he NEVER fails!

boo boo,

I do agree with you that there are many educated people in Nigeria. Don't get offended. Most cases I read regarding credit card scams, banking scams, and identity theft are usually linked or associated Nigeria. Nobody is stereotyping Nigeria. It's the numbers such as AIDS ratio within Cambodia. There's so many AIDS infected people in Thailand, and Cambodia but I don't view anybody there as having AIDS if I don't know them. It's just a number.

What planet are you living on??

I saw no posts directed towards your husband.

I know several Nigerians and they laugh with me at the scammers for which their country is well known.

It seems like you know little of Nigeria itself.

Lagos has the largest slum in all of Africa...and much in-fighting exists within the country.

A simple GOOGLE search on NIGERIAN 419 SCAMS will show many sites that are dedicated to spoofing Nigerians scams as well as the warnings that exist on the US Consulate web site regarding Nigerians scams.

I have personally received several of these offers to help someone get 28 million out of the country blah blah blah.

This has been on US TV so any times that I dont even watch them anymore.

I used to bait them a little and play along until I just got tired of them....now I read them, laugh and delete them.

You need to stop being so sensitive and realize some of the stuff that is happening there.

They deserve any any insults until the govt there cracks down on this.

I finally got rid of the never ending money drain. I called the plumber, and got the problem fixed. I wish her the best.

I am sorry that you feel that Nigeria deserves to be insulted....WOW....what a insulting and ignorant thing to say. I am not a people/country basher and NO country/person is perfect.........unless you can walk on water !! I did not like someone saying "scamming is all Nigeria is good for" because it is so far from the truth!!!

Good for you BooBoo  I hate when people make such offesive generalized statements and then come back and tell you to hush for "being too sensitive". Fact is the poster who made the comment of "scamming is all Nigeria is good for' was wrong in that. It was offensive and stereotypical. I am not Nigerian and I was offended by that. There are many wonderful things about Nigeria, and until you've been there....you can have all the Nigerian friends you want...you will never understand.
