Greetings!

My fiancee had her visa interview on the 12th, and has been approved, but I just found out that they kept the sealed envelope with the medical! All she has is the X-ray (which is useless).

She doesn't actually have her visa yet (apparently the printers are broken; just our luck), so I suppose it's possible that they might give it back to her whenever she can get the visa....

I'm curious... Do some embassies just ship the medical straight to USCIS themselves?

Love timeline:

??? 2003 -------> Started chatting regularly, became good friends

Nov 2004 -------> Fell in love

Jan 2006 -------> Met (in person) for first time

Apr 2008 -------> Wedding

Jun 2008 -------> Closed on house together

K-1 timeline:

Jun 11, 2007 -------> I-129f sent

Mar 20, 2008 -------> Visa in hand

AoS/EAD/AP timeline:

Apr 26, 2008 -------> Wedding

Apr 28, 2008 -------> Filed (forms mailed)

Apr 30, 2008 -------> Forms received by USCIS

May 06, 2008 -------> Cashed check posted to account

May 10, 2008 -------> NOA1 received for EAD, AP, and AoS

May 10, 2008 -------> Biometrics appt date received

May 28, 2008 -------> Biometrics for EAD & AoS

Jun 11, 2008 -------> AoS case transferred to CSC

Jul 05, 2008 -------> AP Approval

Jul 09, 2008 -------> EAD approval

They put all your stuff in the secret brown envelope that you can ´t open and they will open it at the POE that your fiancé goes through :) For AOS you are going to need another medical (sometimes you just need vaccination paper and sometimes you need the whole new medical) from an American doctor :) Congrats on your visa approval :)

Well that's just it... They can't open it at the POE because my fiancee won't have it (potentially)...

Oh ok, I understood that they didn´t give her the medical back....my bad :P

In that case...what did they tell her? I had to pick up my visa the day after the interview and got the secret brown envelope with it :) Perhaps she gets it when she gets the visa too :)

Cuz I mean she has to get it...haven´t heard of anyone being let through immigration at POE without the secret brown envelope...

Thanks, Scott and/or Marta... All they told her was that it was voided if the seal was broken.

It must be standard to get it back after the interview some time. I'll assume that is the case.. :) Now if only they would fix their stinking printers...
