Our move to a smaller, older place

We moved in October last year to a 60 year old bungalow. It's been quite a change from our larger suburban ranch but downsizing PLUS getting into town was something we really wanted to do.

Since it's a slow VJ weekend, I thought some of you wouldn't mind seeing our online album of how we renovated the house. It's 'not a driveby' as they say - a bit bigger than it looks from the outside.

Wow I think it's absolutely charming -- you've done a fantastic job renovating !! And really it looks quite roomy -- it doesn't seem little at all. Love the arched doorways -- very cool !

I was just about to say that! Contact paper on the wall? mauve carpet in the bathroom, pink toilet seat? Very strange. But you did a good job rebecca!

Gorgeous house! I love seeing before and after pics of remodeling jobs. We are in the process of doing some remodeling too (hubby is actually putting down a wood floor in our soon-to-be master bedroom as I type this!). I especially like the remodel of the first bathroom (ugh, what were they thinking with contact paper???) And the second bath is nice too, especially when you have 60's tile on the walls! I once had Pepto Bismol pink tile in a house I owned. That green is actually rather lovely

Wow, you and Wes did a great job transforming the house into a home! Hubby and I really need to get our schedules "emptied" enough to start working on our house again. Since we moved in we've only done work on the living room, guest bedroom and downstairs hallway. The great transformations you have shown provides a good shot of encouragement for me to get back into the home "reno" mood again.

Much improved!!! I love it!!! I used to own a 1940 bungalow myself, but never had the money to renovate it the way I wanted, so I sold it...

I love the updated fireplace and the sunroom!!! Wish I had them!!!

Wow, you guys have done a ton of work! And you've done a great job! You have gotten me into the spirit of renovation -- we're almost certain to move this spring and it would be nice to start from scratch and do some decorating
