Have any of you contacted your congressman or senators office to find out the status of your case?

It's happening in Jordan also....Just happened to me...got the email saying to send in passport...waited 2 weeks called and they said we were in security checks again...sent back the passport blank. Apparantly one of the security checks had expired and so they have to redo it. It hurts more having them take it back than just waiting in the first place....that almost killed me...i cried for 2 weeks....

Just curious, was this always on the DOS website? I never saw it before but maybe it has something to do with people suddenly being put on AP when before they were about to get the visa issued?

Recently, the U.S. has updated its visa policies to increase security for our citizens and visitors. It will likely take you longer to get a visa than it used to, and you will find that a few new security measures have been put into place. For details that may apply specifically to your country, see information posted by your nearest consulate or embassy. While individual differences may differ slightly, here are the basic steps you should follow and what you can expect throughout the process.

I don't know about the DS230 being an immigrantion form, but yeah I had to go there and sign after 3 months of the embassy giving us the same line " your visa is pending officer's final review". As for calling DOS and the congress-rep, well we've done alot of that, but it seems like they're pinning it on the embassy and the embassy isn't saying much. it's really frustrating not to have answers, there's an age gap between me and my fiance but we're admitted evidence that it's a real relationship, but I'm guessing that's no big deal to them.

I'm also a little worried of this "home visit" thing, because, well my neighbors don't know her, in fact I don't think they've ever seen her because we live in an apartment building where everybody pretty much mind their own business, but my family, well they all know her and my mom loves her very much, we also submitted pics of her with my mom, grandma, uncle, brother and sisters, but still the neighbors are my only worry, because it looks like the embassy is sniffing for anything to delay the process or even deny the whole thing.

Thanks for the tip about the K3, I misunderstood the laywer, he said if got married, lived together for six months we can do something called direct filing with the embassy for I-130 and it doesn't take so long to issue a visa.

I know this whole process is about patience and waiting, but from what I read on this forum, it could be a year on AP before they issue the visa, and we can't survive that long apart..

be patinet , insha Allah everything will be ok . if u still get the message that your case pending final review , this is mean something good and as for the home visit dont worry at all about your neighbors , i know they are asking them but even if your neighbors dont know about your fiance , this is wont be a problem insha Allah , i heard cases like that and nothing bad happened , the embassy just pay attention for your family specially your parents. wish you good luck.
