lost i-94

for the immigrant who doesn't have a green card yet but wants to travel outside the country.

what if they went to the airport but forgot to bring their i-94? what happens then?

its not for me. but i don't want to involve the AP in my question. just what happens if you don't have your i-94 at the airport?

I-94 or not, one cannot travel outside the US without AP unless the immigrant came on a K3. As for not having the I-94, I'm not sure but I don't think one could travel without that either. It is possible that one would be turned away at the airport. Just MHO of course.

Advanced parole issues aside, generally speaking, I *believe* that it will be possible to depart the U.S. without the I-94. There may be problems at POE though when attempting to return to the U.S.

If no one takes your I-94 at the airport on departure, they say you should mail it in afterwards to avoid an overstay.
