I think the success is about the same in both, arranged and love marriages. There has been really good luck with plenty of approvals lately!

In any case, Indian Consulates love to hear that the family approves and supports the match, so have those family photos ready!

Thanks ELW for your response.

Can others also please reply? I am really concerned about this. It would be a waste of processing time if they don't approve for K-1 for arranged marriages in India.

I would love to hear from people who have approved K-1 for arranged marriage or under process for K-1 based on arranged marriage. I am sure there are many others facing the same situation but it has not been answered in this forum.

Please HELP!

Arranged or lovemarriage - I think both have the same success rate. What does seem to work at the Consulates in India is that the families are involved and that they approve of the marriage.

Keep pics and evidence handy. Also have parents and relatives write letters to the consulate talking about how they approve of the two of you getting married. The letters will need to be notorised though. I did not have an engagement ceremony, what helped was a letter from my parents talking about how much they approve of the two of us together..

All the best!!!

Parul, thanks for your response on addressing my concern.

The letters you mention from parents for approval of marriage is not needed as part of any immigration paperwork. But, it seems like an additional item good to have and thanks for pointing it out. Is the approval letter from parents good enough to have from beneficiary's side or should you have it from petioner's parents as well?

Like in your case, did you submit the letter only from your parents or Daniel's parents too?

Best wishes on your upcoming wedding!
