No, you don't have to file an I-129F. The I-130 you filed, when approved, will allow your wife to apply for a CR1 (immigrant visa).

Please help the other members in two ways.

1. When you post a question, use a descriptive subject line like, "Do I have to file an I-129F) instead of "please help".

2. Read the guides before you post another question. There's a wealth of information there that is important you learn. Just click anywhere you see the word "Guides" and start studying and learning the process you've embarked on.

If you really, really want to spend a few hundred extra dollars and have your wife wait several months before she can work or get a social security number, you can file an I-129F, which when approved, will allow her to apply for a K3 visa. She might get here a couple months sooner, but the price can be quite high if her working is part of your financial plan.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
Understanding the big picture is priceless. Anonymous
