Filing for AP question and general rambling re AOS

Brief history: my then-fiancee came to US via K1 in May 07 and we lived with our parents in NJ for a while. When filing for AOS we filed from NJ and used my father as a household member for the affidavit of support. After filing we moved to NY but didn't notify USCIS because we figured we'd keep my parents' address with USCIS since it'd be easier. We had our interview in NJ in November 2007 and the USCIS officer said that the application is basically approved, but I will need to refile with my father as a joint sponsor and not as a household member, and that they will transfer the case to NY since we live there now (we presented evidence of living together, which was from NY. I know, not very smart, but we didn't think it'd be a big deal). She said they'd send the case to NY the same day and it should be there within a few days. Then NY office would invite us for an interview to which we'd bring the joint sponsor application and that's it.

After that we didn't hear anything from them, at all. We decided to call the support center a month ago. They weren't able to tell us anything and said they would send some sort of a push request so that something starts happening. Nothing did. We called them again a week or so ago and they suggested we make an infopass appointment in NY. We had the appointment in NY today. All they were able to tell us is that the case is still in the NJ office. Obviously this is just beyond ridiculous and we're not sure sure what to do now. Calling the support center is useless. Should we make an infopass appt. in NJ? They'll tell us that they will send the file, or that they already sent it, and we'll have to play the waiting game againt... UGH! If you have any suggestions, please, please help us.

Anyway, more pressing question: my wife needs to go back to Russia for a month or so to take care of some stuff there. We want to file for Advance Parole. Do we file listing our NY address or my parents' NJ address? Also, the application instructions say that we need to include:

A copy of any document issued to you by USCIS showing your present status in the United States; and If you are an applicant for adjustment of status, a copy of a USCIS receipt as evidence that you filed the adjustment application;

So we have the receipt of filing AOS, but we don't have anything (I think?) showing my wife's status in US... What do we use for that??

Thanks for your help!

You will use her K-1 visa a proof of status. Make a photocopy of the K-1 visa and the I-94 (yes they are both expired but they will show her status). I would also file it under your New York address since that is where you are living.

Sorry, forgot to mention that they took away her i94 at the NJ interview. But I guess we can use the visa in her passport as proof of her status?
