after 14 months since NOA1...

Finally, after 14 months since we received our NOA1 and 12 months since a transfer to local office for additional review, Immigration officers finally visited my USC fiancé and cleared him of all doubts and speculations. According to the investigator, once his report is done, they will be sending our file back to California for adjudication. We were told to expect at least a 90 days wait.

I know they bloat the length of time so as to not hold them accountable for further delay, but does anyone have any idea on how long this part really takes? We’ve been waiting sooooo long and shouldn’t that count at least for something when they see how “aged” our file has become?

A minimum of 90 days to wait for NOA2, plus transfer to NVC, plus transfer to US Consulate here, just makes me feel like screaming or floating away to another planet. How long more do we have to wait? But on the bright side, at least it is moving now rather than not.

If you guys have any info on this, it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

14 months? thats horrible!. I was waiting for my NOA2 for almost 7 months and thats horrible too. But cheer up there are people who were so lucky to get approved so fast like within a week or month...who knows you will be one of them. You will just never know. It varies from case to case.

Yes 14 months of waiting for NOA2 is definitely very long. But I haven't heard about immigration officers visiting USC's?!

I'd tell you to get your congressmen involved in the situation since its taking this long, but there is something odd about your case with them visiting the USC. Did they state why they did so, what doubts? On the K1, all you have to prove is that you met within the 2 yrs....

Well, he had a prior petition for a woman who is a citizen of one of the South-East Asian countries. It never worked out between them and he cancelled the K1 immediately right after the NOA2. She was never interviewed nor entered the US.

Apparently, 3 lawyers have informed us that there has been numerous arrests and rampant fraud issues with these citizens. It's happening in CA and some other popular states in the West Coast area. So it is safe to assume that they wanted to make sure he was not part of that. And so explains the absurd length of time for review.

The immigration folks were really nice and we are just glad that they actually came and settled the matter. At least we are not stuck in a black hole anymore. I am also happy to know that although it took them one hell of a time to figure things out, they are doing their job. This fraud issue seemed really big since they even showed him a stack of folders filled with photos of men and women coming from that specific country to see if he recognized any of them. It's really annoying that a lot of this S**T happens and the innocent ones have to suffer for it.

Anyway, there's light at the end of our tunnel, but after all this time I just wish transfer and adjudication would happen asap.

I have no idea how long it will take but I just wanted to say I am sorry you had to endure this and hope that things get resolved quickly.

You have to take this process stage by stage. Each step reached has to be taken with complete positivity and you appear to be an example to us all with respect to patience and good grace.

I wish you the best of luck!
