We are removing conditions this summer, and based on our history ,I know we will end up with an interview, but looking to see if anyone has had a simaliar situation. Because I have had my SO arrested for DV and the charges were dismissed early last year. But I have heard that it could go either way, and it may be a hard road ahead with immigration.... I just want to get some VJ'ers opinion or story. Please ease my mind or show me the way... We have seeked marriage counseling, but that was just this year....

Mrs. Smith

Mrs. Smith? Like the movie Mr & Mrs Smith?

And then mentioning domestic violence lol

Sorry... it just reminded me of a scene in that particular movie where they're trying to kill each other but calling each other "dear" lol

Sorry... I couldnt help being amused even though it really is not funny.

Thankfully I'm not in that situation... perhaps someone else can give personal experiences...

Hi, Mrs. Smith. I don't have any experience in this area. If you decide to address this issue during your application, I'd like to make a suggestion. When you file your I-751, you and your husband could include a statement that includes, basic details. You pressed charges on ___ date and the case was dismissed on ___ date. Since then you have had counseling and include copies of bills from your marriage counselor, and a statement from him or her that is simple and states something like " I began working with Mr. & Mrs. Smith on __ due to ___ concerns regarding their marriage. In the ___ months I have been counseling them, they have shown a genuine and sustained effort to strengthening the marriage."
