Do I-485 (AOS) & I-765 (EAD) always go together?

The AOS direct mail instructions say I should mail my I-485 (Adjustment of Status) to:

USCIS

P.O Box 805887

Chicago, IL 60680-4120

Direct mail instructions for the EAD put my K3 status under eligibility category "(a)(9)", which says mail your application to:

USCIS

P.O Box 7218

Chicago, IL 60680-4120

Question: Should I mail my AOS & EAD separately to the respective addresses?

We sent our AOS and EAD paperwork out together to the chicago address.

"(a)(9)" category is not included in the list on the 1st page. That is what perplexes me. I found my category in page 6- which shows a P.O Box number different from that for my AOS.
