KIDDING!!!

LMAO

I am going for a visit!

I couldn't pass the price I was offered by my travel agent so I'm leaving on the 20th of March and returning the 25th. Not too long but I'm going to be in heaven the whole time!

I have a bank statement, cell phone bill, letter from my employer and I'm gonna bring a copy of the NOA1 and the email saying we got our NOA2...

I think this should be good.

We are driving over the border, I'm flying out of Buffalo into LaGuardia....

I'm sure I'll be fine...YAY!!!

Have fun!!! Dont tell ur whole story to the POE officer, keep it short and to the point and be confident in ur replies! Smile!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Better to say your going to visit friends in newy york or going site seeing in new york the customs officers are very familiar with Canadian's driving across the POE to fly from the Buffalo Airport because of cheaper flights it very common. My friend is a CBP Officer and he says they get training scenerios all the time about women coming to the POE saying they are engaged to US citizens ans such. They are trained to deny your entry trust in that ecspecialy if you start pulling NOA2 and such. Keep it simple you dont want to have to explain you were denied entry at your interview.

If you have a house or rental agreement bring that too. My fiance had a he$$ of a time crossing last summer & was denied but he didn't have much to prove strong ties. It sounds like you'll be fine with what you have, just adding an additional suggestion because the MORE the better. And like everyone else here said, keep it simple.

Have a safe and fun trip, ya lucky dawg!! :D

Really? I've found the exact opposite (and I cross on a very regular basis). I've found that if I say that I'm going to visit my fiance, they will start a line of questioning that includes "When is the weddding?" and "Where are you living after you get married?" so as soon as they start with those questions I include that we've applied for a K1 visa and at what stage in the process it's at and they'll let me through, since I'm obviously doing this legally.

flames is right not only varies form POE but also varies from the CBP officer. Little fact here a CBP officer is on probation for two years once they are hired and can be fired for breathing wrong. So if you get a young one or a newbie and you start pulling out all of these immigration papers like your NOA1 & NOA2 you are likely going to start raising red flags. Remember every person at a POE is a potential immigrgant in the eyes of an CBP officer. Because look at it yes the officer may see that you are going the leagle route but he might also suspect that maybe you have been denied your visa at your interview. Look at your NOA2 if the date has expired because you are going through montreal you start waving that around you could be in for trouble. And yes you can still make it through your interview if you were denied entry but this is already a stressful process do you realy want to add that to your list? Better leave all your important immigration documents at home where they should be. Your flight Itinerary and some pay stubs should be sufficient. Remember KISS.. Keep It simple stupid.

Again each POE officer is different, but others have been successful in providing the NOA 1 and 2!!

I don't show the documents, in fact, I've never had to show any documented proof of ties to Canada. I just find it really obvious when the conversation starts going in that direction and so I will mention that I've applied for my K1 visa and that is all the 'proof' that I've ever needed (apparently knowing what visa type I'd fall under and having applied for it is enough for all of the CBP officers I've encountered).
