K3,EAD question

Hi

I am Uk citizen and planning to get married in Oct to Indian citizen and thinking of filing K3.

I do know K3 doesnt need AP to exit country,but since it takes 3 months to get work permit (EAD) as no temp EAD is given like K1. So can he carry his foreign job?. Its like he comes here (USA),do the paper work for EAD etc and leaves the country and come back when EAD has been approved. That way he doesnt need to discontinue his foreign job and sit home in usa.

I also heard that now AOS is needed for k3? is that true.

Pls correct me if i am wrong

AOS has always been needed for K3. Currently it is best to file for AOS and EAD together. They are included in the same $1010 fee if done together. It costs extra $300+ to do them separately.

Yes, theoretically, he could leave and come back once the EAD is granted but he would need to stay long enough to go to the biometrics appointment. Usually that occurs within a month of filing but there is no promise on the timing.

Do they do separate biometrics appointment for AOS and EAD when filed jointly? If so, he'll need to stay until both are completed. Usually the appointments have only a couple weeks notice.
