We're approved and it took ONE DAY!!! We filed March 10, 2008 and were approved March 11, 2008! We received the letter from Rome today and they've already sent our information off to Naples where we'll have our interview. I'm in shock!!!!! Filing direct is the best thing we could've done!

I believe your right. I wrote in a different forum about my last experience with CSC. It went like this, I called last Friday to make sure we were really doing the right thing by withdrawaling our petition from CSC. 7 months of agonizing over it left us feeling very nervous about pulling out, as if it was all for nothing. So I wanted to call CSC just to see if someone could tell me whether or not I was even close to being approved. I've never been able to get any kind of useful information out of these people but I'd always talked to a USCIS rep, this time I used the RFE trick to get someone directly at the CSC. Her name was officer Cacho and she's about as sharp as a bowling ball. I told her our situation, that we were about to withdrawal and file in Rome and we wanted to know if this was a good idea at that point. She pauses for a moment and then proceeds to tell me that we are a LONG way from getting approved as they are just now working on petitions sent in Oct. 2004. Yes, she said 2004. Even confirmed it. I told her how grossly wrong she was as I was looking at the USCIS website at that very moment and it stated the date of July 2007. I also told her how frightening it was that her or someone just as educated as her would've been handling my case. It was at that point we decided we were definately pulling out of that mess. We filed in Rome that following Monday. All they needed as far as showing proof of our withdrawal was a copy of the letter we sent that morning to the CSC stating our request for withdrawal. Easy.

I'm not sure how easy or difficult it is at other consulates but I would suggest to everyone that they find out. It's got to be better than working with those trained monkeys they've got working there in America.

and thanks so much everbody for your "congratulations" I hope we get our interview soon. What a process.....
