To work for USCIS I would say you'd have to be an American citizen, but that doesn't mean that's your birth country.
:no: wrong. You don't have to be a U.S. ccitizen to work for them, you can be a permanent resident or a U.S. citizen.

Thanks Nessa, I didn't know that. I've never heard of a federal agency where you could be anything other than a US citizen to work there. Learn something everyday!

I know that cuz I'm looking for a job and they had a couple of positions announced and in its requirements it says US citizen or permanent resident. I always thought it was US citizen only, because every federal job I find that interest me is a GS something, US citizens only. So I was amazed that one accepts permanent residents also.
