Speaking with the CSR back in the day was very frustrating. Trying to find answers on the progress of you application was difficult. I didn't like it. Not only that, if you ask them a question like, " My application has been pending for a long time, and I receive no word on it. How is it doing? " Answer, " I'm sorry about this; however, you need to wait until your application has reached outside the processing time of the process. We cannot look into it for you. "

It's like trying to ram into a brick wall at 100 mph. Instead of receiving an answer, you get your brain splattered.

Customer what ???

Hello everyone, :luv:

I think i need a break for thinking too much of the USCIS processing. I have spoke to a Customer Service last night, And here i came up for a topic to be discussed, which you can post your opinions..

I am opening this topic not to criticize but i wanted to know others opinions also if they are the same with mine..

My opinion, was that the customer service centers that we are calling," i dont think they all are based actually in US. " I believe some of the contact centers are based abroad, thats why sometimes when we call them we get to speak with those non-american accents.. And sometimes, we speak to nice person or to a rude one...

That's my opinion.. What do you think?

Thanks for sharing your opinions.. :luv:

You guys have to remember they are not Sears etc. They are not a customer service oriented agency.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

I didn't know they contracted out to other countries. Since a lot of people that call them have different accents, I just don't know why it's important if they have one. And again I stress....what the heck is an American accent?

Idon't think they do. As far as I know, the contractor that has the USCIS customer service account is based in the US.

No, their job is to run interferrence, so those who actually have the power to do anything don't have to deal with us...

To work for USCIS I would say you'd have to be an American citizen, but that doesn't mean that's your birth country.
 wrong. You don't have to be a U.S. ccitizen to work for them, you can be a permanent resident or a U.S. citizen.

Thanks Nessa, I didn't know that. I've never heard of a federal agency where you could be anything other than a US citizen to work there. Learn something everyday!

I think I need to say something nice about these people. I have been calling the service hotline a LOT and for some reason I NEVER had someone unfriendly or rude on the other end, never had any communication problems because of an accent they might have had.

I remember a few guys who just plain out told me that they don't have the means to give me any more information than I can see online when I check my case number and adviced me to make an infopass appointment to get more detailed information.

Twice they were submitting a service inquiry and within 5 minutes I was transfered to Immigration Officers who had my case on the screen and were able to help me out.

I don't know why I have actually pretty good experiences with them!? Of course it was usually frusterating to call and they were not able to help anyway, but I never got off the phone and thought this was all BS.
