hi everybody!

Did anybody here tried to authenticated her passport at us embassy for filling tax jointly with her american husband? Can you share some information how to obtain the authentication there...

just photocopy your passport (the page were your photo is) and go to any notary public and ask them to notarize it for you. you'll need to key-in your latest community tax certificate (cedula) details on it once it has been notarized. send this to your american husband together with the signed W-7 forms. make sure you send him the original copy.

yup!!! thats what we did!! notarized your passport to any notary public here in the Philippines!! as for us, we did that early this year, and i already have my ITIN and our refund was processed fast! good for interview purposes too!! goodluck!

oh yeah.. dont forget to print and sign your 1040 too (coz both of you need to sign it)... and the declaration letter (both of you need to sign it too.. ) that the IRS require together with your form W7 and the notarized passport...

i just read that folks with the ITIN are not eligible for the tax rebate !!!!!!!

just a thought here.

If when my wife gets her SSN can we refile and then be eligible?
