August filer, received hard copy NOA2, both files at NVC

hello,

I received my hard copy NOA2, and both I130 and K3 NOA2 say that my files have been transferred to NVC. I was expecting just my K3 to be forwarded and I130 to be held for AOS purposes. So, if K3 is forwarded to the embassy, I will receive my interview before I130. If I go with the K3, can I just leave my approved I130 "hanging" at the NVC or do I have to mail all the DS forms when they ask for them.

my main goal is to be with my wife as soon as possible...

It's a mystery to me why both petitions would be at the NVC. Theoretically, the K-3 would be in and out of NVC in a few days or maybe a week or two. The 1-130 will require going through the long step-by-step process that takes months. Why would that make sense? Why would the NVC essentially waste time working both petitions? It seems the I-130 should be held as it used to be.

Actually neither of my files have made it to to NVC yet. Has anyone who got approved around Mar 10 been assigned an NVC number yet?

Thanks Sunny and Neetu and Sky2k and hyd617. I got an email letting me know about approval and then i checked online about status and it said case approved, notice sent in mail. I am waiting for the hard copy now. I also had a touchy feely on K3 today so hoping something will happen, who knows.
