petitioners income tax

my husband went for his biometrics last saturday and we thought that we were in the clear for any RFE's. However we just recieved one that states the petitioner (this was underlined) must submit the most recent Tax Return information and the petitioner (also underlined) must submit most recent tax years W-2 form. The problem is, my husband hasn't worked here yet, because he couldnt find employment within the first 90 days of his visa. His ability to work legally expired before he ever found a job.

So, do we write a letter stating that? I'm worried about this one.

The petitioner is the USC, the beneficiary is the immigrant.

USCIS are asking for your latest tax return and w2, thats all

part 1 of the 864 you ticked a box saying "a. I am the petitioner. I filed or am filing for the immigration of my relative."

thank you for your quick reply. I thought that, but I already sent my 2007 W-2. I didnt send the tax papers because at the time we mailed the petition, I hadn't seen my tax preparer. So, I was confused that it was specifically asking for the W-2 as well as the income tax return.

Thank God they arent asking for the impossible though....lol...I wish he were working for even three months, its really getting tight without him bringing in an income. He's been here since September...

haha, their wording can be a bit unintuitive at times. the "petitioner " requests AOS, but another "petitioner" sponsors them.. can we toss up the words a bit, USCIS, make ourselves C-L-E-A-R ?

I think they want your 2006 tax return and W2 - if you didn't already include it. or if you have, maybe the IO has dropped his coffee on it... if you've done your 2007 tax return now send that in as well. send everything

you people on this website are so totally awesome! I have learned to come here first, panic later....so I sent them the last 4 years of my tax returns and w2's...I will send re-send the w2s along with my 2007 return first thing tomorrow.

I just looked at the RFE again, the statement actually had petitioner/sponsor on both lines, with petitioner underlined....would they still mean me as the petitioner?
