I have my hardcopy NOA2 in hand. On it, they state that "The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate."

This can't mean it's gone through NVC already, can it?

And it says the "listed consulate." I don't see the consulate listed on the NOA2...so I can only assume they've sent it to the consulate in Kiev (in my case), right?

I know, my list of stupid questions seems endless...

As long as on the I-129F you stated the beneficiaries address and overseas consulate/e,bassy as Kiev then you are fine... the packet is probably on its way or even already at the NVC as the NOA2 by mail arrives later

Can't be something else, but the consulate you listed in the petition.

And, bytheway, relax and enjoy, you've got your NOA2, for God's sake!!!

NOA2 just means USCIS approved it and sent it to NVC. NVC will know which consulate to send it on to by the info you put on the I-129F.

You may want to study the K-1 Flow chart.

Not a stupid question...I would ask the same thing if i saw that on my NOA2...

I recommend you call NVC..

Dont go through the automated system. Request an operator and give them your receipt number. Hopefully then they can answer if it has already been sent to the consolate.

NVC's Number is (603)334-0700 press 1 then 5 to get an operator.

sometimes they are busy but if you try enough times you'll get through.

Kind regards,

Diana

I'm trying to remember what my NOA2 said...I'm sorry, all the paperwork is at my mom's/my permanent house so I don't have it in front of me. I feel like mine did have the consulate listed on it though so that might be an issue.

I'd give it a week or two and then call the NVC if you don't receive anything else. I got a letter from the NVC a few days after my NOA2 saying they'd received it, and then my fiance had his packet in like...less than 2 weeks after NOA2.

Summer 2001 - met my Scottish boy

December 18th, 2007 - proposal in Madrid's Botanical Gardens with a duck standing behind him going 'food?'

January 18th, 2008 - I-129F sent to VSC

January 31st, 2008 - received NOA1, issued Jan. 24 :)

February 24th, 2008 - NOA2; omgwtfbbqlolz

February 29th, 2008 - NVC letter sent

My honey received the hard copy of NOA2 this week and it states the same thing as yours...I also compared it to the noa2 in the gallery here at vj and it's a little different because it says "Its forwarded to the listed consulate.".

So, he called the NVC and asked about our petition, the operator said that they already received it and within this week they will send my honey a letter stating that they already sent it to the consulate..and that I will be able to receive the packet as soon as it arrives at the consulate here in the philippines.

If you check out the DHL listing from the NVC on 3/13 you will see that yes indeed, documents (perhaps they were yours) were sent from Portsmouth to Kiev on the 13th. Fantastic News. Start calling in about a week and see if you can shorten the process - I hope all your documents are together there. Let us know how this progresses.

by the time you get the NOA2, it means the case should be on its way to NVC, unless your case is at CSC(they ship in bulk and like to waste more of peoples time, cheapos not making enough money to ship individually?) After a short stint in the NVC it'll be shipped to your fiances consulate

I think all NOA2's have the same exact wording... I thought the same thing, that it went straight to the embassy. NOPE! But NVC usually only takes 1-3 business days to process it.

Wow, mine was the one sent to Kiev on March 12!!! That's 11 days less than the average right now. At this rate, if all else is just in line with the average, then my girl should be here in the US by the first week of May!
