I am looking of an adult literacy program for my husband. He finished high school but didn't go to college. His reading skills is not the greatest. I want him to get some help with reading and writing. He lives in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica but has a sister who lives in Kingston (not exactly sure where), so I would like to know if there is any programs near kingston where he can go. While we are waiting for this visa thing to go through i felt it will be good if he improves his reading in the meantime so when he comes up here he won't be so far behind, especailly since he wants to go to school up here. Please any suggestions.. :help:

NVC Journey Total days: 75

04.09.2008: Case# assigned

05.12.2008: DS230 Entered into System

06.18.2008: Case Complete (So upset that it took this long 37days)

US Embassy:

10.29.2008: Interview Date Assigned

11.17.2008: Medical Appointment

12.03.2008: Interview Date (FINALLY!!!)**APPROVED**

12.08.2008: Visa Delivered

12.21.2008: POE JFK

my hubby just waited until he got here. He took placement test to get into the community college. He might want to get a letter from his high school that he attended and graduated. Then he can take the placement test for the community college. If he doesn't pass he will then be put into the reading class and the writing skills class. I hope someone else can help you with finding something in Kingston.

Thanks. I found a JAMAL program in Manchester. He will be signing up next week!!!! :thumbs:

10/23/2007 - Receive SSC (took 9 days from POE)

12/04/2007 - Receive Welcome Letter

12/14/2007 - Received 2nd Welcome Letter and Green card!!!

09/23/2010 - Information input in the system/check cashed

09/29/2010 - N-400 receipt received

09/30/2010 - RFE mailed

10/15/2010 - Biometrics appt (@8am) YAY!!!!

11/20/2010 - Received the yellow letter (dated 11/17/2010)

11/30/2010 - Case moved to the Testing & Interview stage (Email)

12/03/2010 - Received interview letter

01/06/2011 - Interview @ 10:15a...APPROVED!

02/12/2011 - Received oath ceremony letter (dated 02/10/2011)

02/18/2011 - Received descheduled oath ceremony letter (dated 2/15/2011)

02/26/2011 - Received new oath ceremony letter

03/02/2011 - Oath Ceremony @ 1:30p (IT'S ABOUT TIME!!!)

03/09/2011 - Oath Ceremony @ 1:30p...FINALLY A CITIZEN!!!
