I just got back to the states a few days from visiting my fiance in India... The journey begins! My income is under the 125%, however, i have a possible cosponser in mind and also some money tucked away. But what im wondering is if i pick up a second job now, like a waitressing job to put me over the 125% and send out my petition in the next two months will they accept merely a few pay check stubs to show that i now have enough to put me over the 125% or would i have to have held that second job for a longer time. My other job I can show all proper information as I have been there for over a year now, but what I'm wondering about is if I were to pick up another one on the side just to boost me over that 125% instead of getting a cosponser or getting into the asset stuff, would if be acceptable or denied sufficent simply because I havent been at the second job long enough? Any insight would be much appreciated...Thanks!

Have you filed the I-129F yet?

:time:http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=46443

You do not file I-134 with the I-129F, it will be needed for the visa interview. You have some time to worry about this, and perhaps by the time that you do interview your income will be sufficient to sponsor without resorting to a co-sponsor.

Also income is GROSS income, NOT Take Home Pay.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

You can use your assets too to supplement your paycheck, sounds like you already know that though.

I'd advise getting a co-sponsor if you think you can - not really to make the application process easier but just to make it much easier on you! Otherwise though, no, I don't think it'll be a problem if you haven't been with the second job long and as YuAndDan said, you've got a lot of time yet before the interview when they ask for this stuff.

They only ask you for the last few paystubs so that must be enough time for them. It will show when you get your letter from an employer that you haven't been there long, but I just think there are people that apply in much worse situations and that they're not going to discriminate you based on this. They'll see that you're working hard to get the 125%, I'd say.

The person I plan on having as my co-sponsor is paid weekly. Would this be okay?

Petition sent: 12/10/2010

Arrived at service center: 12/14/2010

First NOA: 12/16/2010

Um...yeh? As far as I know. I think most people are paid every week or every two weeks, anyway.

The co-sponsor things aren't that hard. If the person agrees, then they just fill out the form. You still have to fill it out too. The hardest part about that is the signature has to be notarized. The co-sponsor has to specify how they'll help, like "room and board" or I think just simply saying "financial aid when needed" is enough.

They want you and your co-sponsor's check stubs from the last 2 or 3 months, I think; so you'd just save all of the co-sponsor's weekly stubs. Also, your tax stuff, letters from employers, I think a statement of some sort from your banks, and if you want to include assets you can. The guides explains it all pretty well.
