Salaam Everybody,

Happy Thursday.

i was reading in one of the other posts that there are some upcoming interviews in Casa soon. Us, too... Us, too! Anyone else out there with an interview within the next couple of months? Ours is the end of April... i'm afraid to say the exact date because the Casa Consulate scares me and i'm afraid i'll jinx our interview.

Yes, i know... i am ridiculous...

And here are some stupid, and maybe self-evident questions, but i'd like your thoughts anyway.

How come some couples have AP for months after interviewing at Casa?

And others are cleared in just a few days? Is there anything couples can do to avoid a long AP?

Is it all just about random name checks? Or is it purely a matter of luck--who you get to process your case and how fast they feel like working?

Any thoughts?

Shukran bzef, (F)(F)(F)

I agree with Sereia - consulates/embassies have their own set of rules and regulations they work by that to us might not make much sense. From my understanding AP is mostly about security checks and I don't think that once the case is approved there is much that can influence the length of AP.

Hope this helps - at least a little.

D.

My personal feeling is those who clear AP in a matter of weeks or a month are just plain lucky. The exception to the rule, so to speak.

AP encompasses so many different aspects....

1) Country of origin

2) Common name, which delays the name check clearance

3) Profession

4) MISC factors: badly trained Consulate officers, requests for more documents, etc, etc.

So I feel AP that last 6 months and longer is more the norm/ the rule....

6 + months of limbo sounds heart-wrenching! :crying:

Does everyone going through Casa automatically receive the 221g ?

Or are some people cleared right at the interview?

Thanks for helping me with all my questions and worries!

some have been cleared in a matter of maybe 2 weeks i think in one case, others longer, i dont remember anyone getting it immediately. i dont think they usually run as long as in Egypt>But first i hope you are studying with him the the procedures of the interview and the possible questions that have been posted, take it one step at a time......

Inchallah... Thanks Simple Male. Me, too! i hope it goes smoothly.

Hi Brnidokiegurl,

La bas?

You are right, one thing at a time... It's just all this talk of AP lately has got me thinking....

We are studying... i'm not there yet, going next month, inchallah.

But he has a list of questions that i think i printed off of here a long time ago. He is studying... we came clean on our Red Flags... doing as best we can.

i just want it to be relatively painless! [insert praying smiley here]

As always thanks for the insight and support!

My husband seems to believe that if you already went thru the marriage process in morocco and had your marriage approved there, that it will be faster because they had to investigate you both prior to approving your marriage.

Inchallah... Thanks Simple Male. Me, too! i hope it goes smoothly.

Your husband is way wrong.

There have been a few that have received their visa within a few days after the interview in Casa, but I would always plan for the worst and hope for the best.

'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a Ride'

Our interview is coming up soon, too, and I noticed that a couple of folks had unusually short AP times. I plan to just ask them what they think they did to shorten it. Insha'allah, they will have some idea and be willing to share. :)

Yes, good idea...

If anyone out there has any speculation as to why some couples' AP was so much shorter than others, please share your thoughts. (F)

Although, really in my heart of hearts... i truly believe it is just luck of the draw.... :star::star:

Hey, does the mean lady still work there?

i remember when i first joined VJ last spring, there were a lot of issues at Casa with one consular officer in particular?? seems to have quieted down since then?

Good luck everybody,
